I didn't realize only half the team was able to contribute to the much needed features the game requires. This would explain even more why its development is taking so long. Did they manage to hire some programmers after advertising in the end?

I'm not in any position to tell the devs how they should develop the game and they are doing a grand job, even if its a very slow process. Its a shame they cant plow more resources into the programming side of things though.

I wonder if Gabester is training an apprentice to help out. I'll gladly be the coffee and donut bitch.

Welp, I think the community has pounded this one into the ground pretty much instantly.

I believe they've brought on a few more coders, and I know for a fact there's been some cross-pollination, so to speak, between the BNG and T3D dedicated teams. Click the Team button from the main menu to see the most updated list. AFAIK Gabe and Hutch are still the only artists, so you can assume everyone else is code, support, or debugging.

As for how long I play and what I do?

Several hours of coming up with routes around the main maps and seeing how fast I can take them, exploring the default maps (seriously the small details and side trails you'd be hard pressed to notice are insanely plentiful) or Sunday driving, taking in the wonderful map work Hutch and our community members have done.

Did anyone else know that there's a ramp on ECUSA that gets you about a half second of airtime while being designed to not do any damage if taken correctly and is a pretty major shortcut? And that's one that happens to be connected to a main road and have a prominent marker in the form of a large downed tree. There's even more obscure trails in the official maps. I continue to find new routes around DRI almost every time I play it.

You keep crashing the cars the same way again and again?

They called it The Pre-Race Update.

About 45 mins every time I play. I drive around, test different car setups, enjoy the physics in slow motion.

BeamNG is still in Alpha. Maybe you should not have bought it yet? You can get a refund. Or maybe you should keep it and see again in the future if anything has changed. The price will go up.

That's bullshit. NCG/Wreckfest is being developed by the video game company Bugbear. Bugbear had 33 employees in 2010.

From what I gather in the dev post about hiring new folks it looks like the majority of them were for bug tracking/resolution and the associated communication needed for that.
I'm not aware of anyone actually hired to help with maps or vehicles directly but that's not to say the new folks aren't.

This game is actually moving relatively quickly in terms of it's dev team's size and the scope of the project. I am involved with another early alpha in Intruder and compared to this game that one is developing much much more slowly.

It is clear you are unaware of how much it takes to build a video game and even Wreckfest likely took many years to actually finish but you don't know about that because games like that aren't announced until they are closer to completion. This game however was announced almost as soon as they had something playable in it which is very very early in the dev cycle.

So while I see why people are angry they shouldn't be and they should try to help you to understand how large this project actually is and that it is going to take a lot of time before it is actually finished.

Another thing is this game is being built from the ground up a lot of other games have engines and things they can use from other games the studio has. These guys don't have that so much and are doing a lot of stuff on their own.

many thanks for the constructive response

im just saying its taking its time to move anywhere at the moment..
im NOT saying they should give up.

they need to re evaluate important tasks and get the important things into the game like fricking working AI, MP
once them 2 alone are in.... you have a base game

dont spend time looking at wet ground materials ffs...

    Oh it's this one again.

    0/5

    </highlyuselessresponse>

If I'm right, all four devs of the game/content have their own life and this game isn't the number one priority on their to-do-list while Bugbear's people are doing their game for living.

    Oh god. I don't even...

Having AI and MP is more important than having cars that actually feels like real cars?
Having proper ai is useless if AI can't control cars properly, and MP is not top priority.
You have no idea about the amount of background work that is going on..

Now leave if you have given up, Or don't demand answers as to why the developers have lives to live.

We just had two weeks with _lots_ of work and we will publish a new blogpost soon :)

Why we have blogposts about wet ground: We have ppl working on different things at the same time, it does not mean 100% of our team is focused on wet ground effects, that would be stupid.

    tl;dr: FF upcoming :)
