Many people already know that you can use the world editor to tweak the graphics, but I wanted to go a bit further and release some of the deeper changes I've been working on recently. And yes, it is possible for this to take close to 0fps off your performance. Seriously. I changed: The brightness The light scattering (increased blueish hues in the sky, atmostphere and shadows) The Shadow resolution (with my mod will take maybe 5FPS tops but you can have completely no FPS loss if you take the shadow quality back down to medium and then back to high in the menus) The sun, fog and ambient colour gradients The ground albedo (percieved bounce light) colour The sunflare texture (means you can turn off lightrays and gain an extra 2ish FPS) The moonlight colour The nightime cubemap Installation: I haven't tested if this mod works when packed so to be safe, you should do the following. CLEAR YOUR CACHE and then unpack the "art" and "levels" folders into the "0.28" folder in the BeamNG directory. And thats it. Fair warning: this will break after game updates and with a very small number of other mods (like mods to existing maps) I am also not very experienced in modding, or forum posting, so constructive criticism is welcome. There also may be a fair bit of bloat in the "levels" file since it would take me years to separate out just the files that I changed. Screenshots
There’s a way to remove mission markers! You go to the ‘Options’ tab in the menu, then click ‘User Interface’, and deselect, ‘Show in-game mission markers’.
No unfortunately, but its easy to get it to work on any map you like. Maybe I should make a tutorial for that or something
are you not sour disk? the guy who made a tutorial for how to make graphics better looking at beamng?
Damn I wanted to do the same by sharing my WE settings as well but I guess it's too late now as mine are close to yours haha I would suggest to completly remove the ugly clouds. Here are mine:
yes I am, just wanted to package up some changes that would be too complicated for a tutorial --- Post updated --- And yeah, I forgot to mention the clouds (which I did change a bit, they are still fundamentally ugly default textures) and I only really kept them there for the sake of having them.
Hope the devs will do something about them in a near future. There's a way to make them a little better but still far from decent.
