First off, I'm using a SoundBlaster Audigy FX soundcard. I just recently updated the driver for it, which is when this bug started happening. Basically what happens is the sound of the car's engine is very sporadic and cuts in and out randomly and very quickly when the camera is centered. But when i move the camera to one side, the audio improves (but still isn't perfect). Other sounds play fine however, such as crashes, ambient sounds, etc. I have messed around with the in game audio options extensively to no avail. Are there any known fixes for this?

Are you using the experimental version on Steam?

Change audio provider in sound settings from OpenAL to DirectSound

I have it set to DirectSound. I have tried every setting in audio preferences. I'm switching to stable to see if there's a difference atm.

Nope, no difference. Exact same behavior.

I switched to onboard audio and that did it. But I'd much rather use my dedicated soundcard. I guess I may just have to wait for an official fix.

Sound cards, are they worth it? This video may help you decide.
