even then, most cars in europe used to be manual, with automatics being either extremely rare or nonexistent. neither the 500 nor its successor - the 126 had automatic transmissions, only 4 speed manuals. only the 2007 500 had an automated transmission, but that would be too new
automatic versions of 1980s cars were offered for disabled people. If you don't have legs you can order an automatic. But sometimes they just gave you hand operated throttle, brake and an automatic clutch. My point is if the maker of the mod wants to have an automatic no one can stop him. However, I think a sequential transmission from a motorcycle would be more believable.
I know this sound stupid but, maybe add 4WD? for example for a cheap army config or smth And finally with this i can finish the Cheap Army Piccolina
i don't think the piccolina is the right choice as a military car, at best it could serve as a small transport car around the military base but would remain mostly stock. maybe it will come as a bonus config with locking differentials and special dark green color but that would be it. thanks for the suggestion
Thats what i am making except because this the body can be heavier and stronger and fuel tank can be stronger and also 4WD and the cheap army piccolina exists Also you know the Type D hoods marker lights with chrome?Could you also make a version of it with plastic decoration? Thx for noting my suggestion btw Also my config has a lore of being made from 1969 to 1978 and then a refresh and then 1979-2006 so for 37 years
There actually where beetles that where used in the military there was also an Awd variant Wehrmacht Käfer VW typ 82E (ww2) Sanitäts Käfer (Bundeswehr) There was also the whole Kübelwagen lineup like the type 82 or the post war type 181 that was based entirely on the VW beetle it was a military vehicle but was also sold publicly it even made it into the US Typ 82 (ww2) VW typ 181 (Bundeswehr) A special one was the VW typ 166 schwimmwagen an amphibian vehicle wich also had the drivetrain of the beetle but had an awd added to it wich none of the other Kübelwagen variants had VW typ 166 schwimmwagen (ww2)
Looking good, I suggest (like others) that you give it some more standard "sealed beam" style headlights rather than the old Y-braced style it's got, and perhaps larger taillights, maybe taken from the Stambecco? If you wanted to make some bigger changes with this mod, I have 2 suggestions: 1. redesign the engine intake to be like a VW type 3 "pancake" engine, which both justifies it having more power, with fuel injection, but because it's also flatter, it would allow you to put a floor on top of the engine, then you could either turn the top of the engine bay into an enclosed boot, or even cut a hatchback into the back of the car, like the VW type 3 and my edit below: 2. replace the front crank axle suspension with a macpherson strut, similar to the VW Super beetle. this one is a bit more pedantic, but you could almost just steal the front suspension from the covet.
yes i also have a ton of ideas like this for the mod but our skills are limited, we only do what we can. if anyone wants to help us we'd be more than happy to accept the offer. thanks for the suggestion
Actually we've already removed the chromed Y shaped piece off the headlights. As for the engine model, I reckon remodelling the piccolinas old B4 would be a great idea though there is one pretty damn big issue with that: I don't think I (as the dude behind all of the 3D model stuff) will be able to remodel the engine, same thing with the suspension, my knowledge with mechanical parts is limited to say the least and so are my modelling skills. If I somehow manage to make the "pancake" styled engine then we'll definitely concider making a hatchback body as that in comparison to modernising the mechanicals will be a "piece of cake" (or should I say a "piece of a pancake").
Well, the engine block itself would be the same. You would only need to model the cooling system and the alternator belt. Maybe even the carburetors can be the same, and for the EFI, the SBR4 Intake manifold could be resized.
What do you think about removing the engines black firewall and then moving the engine slightly lower
very great i really like this project because lets be real piccolina needs like some new customizations and this one is awseome
