I mean no disrespect by the comments below, just my opinions. If my tone comes across offensive I apologize in advance. I’m trying to think of this the way it probably would be thought of from a game devs’ standpoint. This is a beautiful vehicle, but I still think it would be better lore wise as a newer gen Miramar. Right now it seems like it almost directly conflict with the game’s own vanilla lore, which defeats the purpose of “lore friendly”. As the two above posts show, Ibishu and Hirochi are actual names, just not common ones. This fact shows why Ibishu branding would better fit into the game’s lore, (developers clearly took inspiration heavily from Nissan Sylvia/200SX, that sounds a lot like 200BX) although the final decision is yours. I’m not saying it’s bad that you make new brands, just this one in particular is a bit of a lore oddity. Might be able to fit the lore while keeping the brand intact if you make Nishino a subsidiary of Ibishu, kind of like what Finn and Theo Wilkinson did with the Procyon Centauri as a Hirochi subsidiary
I’m inclined towards newer car brands, besides, one could make up that Nishino was what Datsun was to Nissan Also, as Op said, Ibishu has become a blanket brand that has all kinds of cars, which is understandable, but I don’t think a single company should make Nissan 180sx and jeep wrangler at the same time
Cough Toyota cough And both vehicles were on the market in 1996 Personally, I dont really mind if the creator made a new brand, it gives more room for lore and stuff.
Thanks I may or not have plans for a lore friendly AE86 as well, which may or may not be Mikawa branded and borrow heavily from the mysterious japanese 70s coupe in terms of suspension layout but that is enough of that for now... yeah nah Appreciate the comments, figured I might as well address this now First of all there is zero chance this will be called a Miramar, for which I have several reasons. First of all the 64 Miramar is nothing like a Skyline, whereas my mod is. The Miramar is it's own vehicle, and I am sure the devs have their own ideas for a 90s Miramar, so I want to distance my mod from that to avoid it clashing should the devs ever get around to creating such a vehicle Secondly there is also 99s old Miramar mod, which once again I would like to try to distance my mod from a bit as well, the idea may be the same between the two but the execution will not, trust me And lastly there is the fact that Ibishu has become a bit of a blanket manufacture for all Japanese vehicles, and I am not entirely sure what kind of company, design language to use with them and so on. This is why I have decided to use my own brands, which ultimately just gives me more creative freedom to create what I want to This. But yeah I don't have any intention of going against the game's lore, but sometimes it is kinda hard not to Worst case I can use the 'multiple timelines' theory as an excuse True, though those are both Toyota models, whereas Ibishu's 200BX is heavily based on the Nissan S13/S14 (less so the design, but the suspension and underside is practically a 1:1 S chassis), yet the Hopper is very much just a jeep with landcruiser wheels I know I said it But yeah with new brands it gives me much more creative freedom as for today's progress, did a little more work on the frame and strut towers as well as making a start on the hubs and upper wishbones
Well, given that Miramar has a smaller engine compared to the Skyline and its name suggests a focus on exports, it would make sense to give it a different name (If the developer were to create a Miramar from the 90s, it would probably be something similar to the Nissan Primera or Toyota Carina E/Corona). However, it's also true that Ibishu has a strong affinity with Nissan. The 200BX is clearly based on the 240SX, and some of the wheels are nearly identical to those of Nissan. Moreover, although this image is from the development of the Z32 300ZX, I believe the three designs under consideration have elements that resemble the R32 Skyline in the center and the 180SX/240SX on the right. In that case, Sunrise should also fit well with Ibishu's design language.
True, like you mention the 200BX is pretty heavily Nissan S13 inspired, though the likes of the Covet is much closer to an EF civic, with almost no Nissan design elements. Similar also for the Pessimas (hard to say what cars they are based on for sure, I feel like they are very original in that sense) but they don't give me a lot of Nissan vibes Also the 89 Pessima's 4WD system is pretty much the same as how period Hondas such as the Prelude worked, Gapester does (or at least did at the time) own a 3rd gen Prelude and likely had some influende in some Ibishu models In that sense for me it makes it very difficult for me to pinpoint Ibishu to any specific Japanes brand, unlike say ETK which can quite easily be interpreted as BMW, as well as the American marques, for which my mods will follow a pattern of Gavrils being FoMoCo inspired models, while GM based models will use the Bruckell/Soliad marques Initially the plan was, at least for my lore friendly mods, limit the use of Ibishu to Honda based models, not at all to say that Ibishu = Honda because it is not, just makes things easier for me with the GTA approach of parodying marques and models Also I really do like those clay models, should most certainly come in handy for future projects
Makes sense ig, hopefully in the future we could see more than one model for each brand so it’s not a bunch of obscure brands with only 1 car each
not from the factory no, not will it be a high priority lol also that is not a Skyline, it's an S13 Silvia vert with 32 front and rear ends grafted on just look at the door shape this guy may have a factory convertible tho
i know this is dumb and will most likely not happen but is there a chance of an lhd version of this car
