Re: B-25 Mitchell There's just something about WW2 planes that itches my fancy. They're just so... Iconic.
Re: B-25 Mitchell I'm pretty sure the side RAF roundels and fin flashes aren't supposed to be that bright. The red's darker and the blue is more of a navy blue. The top ones are correct, though (at least, based on a flying Mitchell Mk. III. I've also seen models where the coloring is darker.). While I'm at it, let me release my inner WWII aircraft nerd. There are a few other changes that you might need to make: -The H variant had slightly different engine cowlings. Despite the fact that the engines were the same on basically all B-25s, the H had vents that the J did not and had a different top intake. Though I have seen B-25Js with H cowlings. -The nose gear seems somewhat odd. On the real B-25, the strut does not curve backwards, but is straight all the way down. Though this may be for stability purposes in BeamNG. -Mysterious lack of gear doors. Though I would expect the coding to make them close after the gear has retracted would be very complicated. Just some things to think about: -Earlier variants? The B was quite iconic. This would require a new tail though, because it didn't have the waist turrets. -Ground attack nose. Some B-25Js (there's a surviving RAF Mitchell Mk. III with this) had a different strafing nose. It appears to have 8 12.7mm Brownings, and has the dorsal turret removed. -Ventral turret if you make the B variant? They attempted installing a turret with twin 12.7s, but it was completely useless. Still, it was interesting. -B-25J-20 nose. This had a fixed 12.7 supplementing the one in a flexible mount.
Re: B-25 Mitchell Thats what I was thinking. I'm no aviation nerd but I have at least been to duxford a few times and there are of course RAF bases in the area (don't think the roundel has changed much over the years), colours seem a little more muted on the real thing. Actually. There is nothing more awesome than seeing a lancaster take off from duxford.
Re: B-25 Mitchell Good catch - it is indeed modified for stability, since the wheel refuses to caster if I make it any straighter than that. You may notice in the OP that I originally modeled it straight.
Re: B-25 Mitchell can you do the B-25 navy version the: PBJ 1 h? only you must change the front of the plane change the front turrets to an without glass front like this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/PBJ-1H_USMC_in_flight_c1944.jpg
Re: B-25 Mitchell The PBJ-1 is the same as the B-25, with the same variant suffixes. Thus, the PBJ-1H is the B-25H
Re: B-25 Mitchell (imported from here) I've got to add a few more polygons to those curved rails before installing the glazing - funny how things that look fine from the outside (at a distance) can look awful up close.
Re: B-25 Mitchell If the new BeamNG update allows us to map axises and buttons, this would be so awesome. I am genuinly excited to see this in the making, aswell fly it. Thank you for your work
Re: B-25 Mitchell I ve got an idea if you can make propane tanks why not bombs??? Do it Like propane tanks but with bomb form #doit #b25rocks
Re: B-25 Mitchell You shouldn't beg. You should read the thread before posting. And you should edit your previous message instead of posting new ones, since there's only one message after your previous message and it's not from Mitch.
Re: B-25 Mitchell Did you read it all the thread :| ??? To dead it al i must have 30 mins to read al this because i didnt speak english Im learning it :|
Re: B-25 Mitchell Wow man this looks great so far. You are also right about the polycount. It needs to be higher. I would also suggest to use the normal map to add some soft edges to the objects inside the cockpit. Maybe from a high to lowpoly bake or with Gabesters technique. The texture is really(really) well done but overal it looks flat because the lack of normal maps. Just a suggestion though It's petty minor so it's up to you if it is worth or not. But the post count D:
Re: B-25 Mitchell Certainly, this is going to be the best mod ever made as far as I can imagine ... Great job.
Re: B-25 Mitchell Not really, he would just have to add stuff to both, not make an entire new one. Of course it's not that easy, but easier than what you are thinking of.
