Nope, this is a lore Fiat 127. I wouldn't call it a new Maluch, this car's a bit more modern and civilised than a 126p
I really don't want to say it but this is not a good-looking car. It feels like something out of Eastern Europe or something Autobianchi would try to sell you. So please excuse me if I compare Aria to lore Fiat Ritmo. Yes, Ritmo came 5 years later and was a segment larger than this but it was just as unpleasant to the eyes.
umm.. no? By that logic so is the Bolide Edited: by that logic so is the Porsche, so Hirochi in BeamNG.
--- Post updated --- Poland, Yugoslavia, and the Onion of Soviets. i think its obvious that Fiat 12x were almost at home in eastern europe
@Shelbyiris Ok, let me rephrase that. FIAT designed cars and sold car licenses to a lot of people. They were not bad looking. Zastava 750, Zastava 1300/1500, 124, 125, 126, 127, Zastava 101. 131 FSO Polonez* yes polonez or Trapez in BeamNG was designed by Fiat. Those designs only got ugly when other people, people that FIAT had very little to do with, gave them facelifts. VAZ 2105, FSO Polonez Caro, Yugo Coral. Also incidentally Porsche helped designed the Lada Samara/VAZ 2108.
Well, taste in cars is subjective - for you the Ritmo you brought up as an example is an eyesore, but for me it's a funky and cool-looking car. The Eastern Europe thing might come from the fact that a majority of Eastern Bloc cars were just reverse-engineered, heavily based on, or licensed Italian exports - think of Lada or Zastava cars.
Well, yes looks are subjective but design elements are not. Aria has a sharp-edge engine hood and a flowing side pressing in the rear. The rear window follows that curve and goes up with it. The rear window's lower edge is far higher than the side windows. The cars that did that had an engine in the back, so it had to be done like that. Not here. The front window is meeting the roof has a noticeable space where the roof is going down and the window is yet to begin. And there are no side turn indicators. By the time this car was made, those were required by law.
Those are some valid points, I'll try to explain them: 1: The sharp-smooth thing is meant by design, as a sort of mix between the smooth cars of the 60's and the new sharp curves that started appearing in the 70's 2 & 3: This is also by design, so that it flows with the shoulder line. I do plan on making a facelifted tailgate with the rear window reaching lower down the line. 4: Not sure about this one 5: I kinda forgot about those Keep in mind that I have next to no knowledge about car design and this is pretty much my first self-designed car that isn't a straight IRL ripoff, like the Mistral, so some imperfections will be here and there
Fair enough I do not expect you to rework the shape you chosen. I know it is your First scratchbuilt car. I very much apprechiate the effort you are making. As you may have guessed by my profile picture I am a big fan of italian cars. I also played with designing things. I like to offer a sugestion. Try to make a sketch before making 3d model. It is basically concept art. PS I am a fan of the Mistral. You did good worka there.
I can't wait for this car to come out, it's a fantastic idea, congratulations on the work, when it's finished, in the game's garage mode, I'll put Madrid license plates on it, its Spanish version would be exactly the same.
Small progress update again: I've remade the extra-wide bodykit! It's now 5cm at its widest and covers most of the wheels, rather than curving back towards the body at the bottom. Also, I think from now on I'll be posting progress updates as soon as I have something worth showing, rather than in 2 week batches. That way there shouldn't be a big delay between updates, like it's happened before with the Mistral. Alright, that's all!
