Yeah, I hope they add this to the game. It would make us controller users so happy. ^_^

This is kind of a bump, but to add to the thread (other then that this is still a needed feature). Would it be possible for anyone in the community to write a small program that could (easily) change the key binds (Including and most importantly for me) on the controller as well as the keyboard. I don't know how hard this would be to do.

Yes. Especially make the WASD keys for driving.

See I was thinking this too but then I decided I'd just take a crack at making my own inputmap for my controller that didn't work and it really isn't as hard as it seems. You can use the already existing inputmaps to help you along. They can be found Capture.PNG If you have a controller that is already supported it is even eassier to change the controls of it than it is to make a new inputmap. Even the kb controls are very easy to modify and if that's too much for you to try and figure out then I know somewhere on here they have custom ones. I know some are in the post your inputmaps thread.

And yes I know this is an old thread and may be a non issue but it might also help someone, so sue me if you don't like my bump.

    Here's a better solution:

    Or even better:

It should be implemented with time, but right now here's your best bets.

If you want to change the controls go to your steam folder and access through that

i've had a wheel for some time now. if you like driving games, a wheel is going to be better in most circumstances, even Beamng. other than the last NFS games, i'll always use the wheel instead as it's a better way to race (nfs never had wheel optimisation, so sucks). If you want to get into PC racing sims like iracing or assetto corsa, you'll need a wheel to be competitive.

There's a reason all cars use a wheel instead of other things that have been tried, like joysticks and stuff.
