Do you think you could add an additional, retro version of the MX7000 with the greenish hue on the blue lights? MSX98FMDnB did that on his reworked version of the caprice (lightbar on the right in the attached pic) and it gives a really nice touch to older builds.
The clear center dome of the MX7000 doesn't reflect light, it's a little too clear. Therefore sometimes it looks like the lightbar is missing the center glass dome eventhough it's there if you look closely, it just behaves differently then the colored domes. Pictures on high graphic settings are attached, this error applies to all graphic modes though.
BTW, use this at your own risk. I just noticed the headlight beam is pointing up instead of down. I've tried a lot of stuff and even using headlight beam patterns meant for other cars, but I can't fix this. It's honestly beyond me, but bear in mind I'm not really a modder by nature, so someone with experience could probably adapt this mod to the Vic and make it have a proper headlight pattern.
I fixed that and the wonky reflection. Also made the lights that have to shine through colored glass a bit brighter. Also made the white halogen lights a bit more yellowed. Brighter Marker light Flashers I also fixed the coloring of the Blue Beacon light. It had a red light prop inside of it making it appear purple. WHOOPS
A few suggestions since I am a lover for CVPI's: Vancouver Lighting Setup, links for reference; Spoiler: VPD Lighting Setup , RCMP Lighting Setup, links for reference; Spoiler: RCMP Lighting Setup , Real Crown Victoria Engine Sounds, again link for reference; Spoiler: Engine Sound I don't usually suggest stuff like this because they're kinda small and not really a must do type thing you know? But I hope at least one of these could be implemented into the Mod.
These look great! I love the way the taillights look. Will you also be updating the CHMSL to have the new lighting style?
I tried once. But it would clip through the rear window as if it was outside of the car and looked weird. But I will be revisiting it to try and update it's look a bit better so it doesn't look way out of place. xD --- Post updated --- I don't really do area specific lighting as that is very different every city you go. And too many flash patterns for one lightbar gets a bit messy in the files. For the engine sounds? Well, since I am picky, I have not done them because no sample has sounded just like the real thing. I've had some sent to me, and some made by other users, and it's just not accurate enough. I would want it to be on par with the default BeamNG engine sounds. The sound files have to be somewhat specific to get it to sound nice. --- Post updated --- This is the headlight beam pattern the Crown Victoria mod is using. I tried hard to get them to look right. :'D I even made my own wall for adjusting the headlight aim to be accurate according to the owners manual. If I make them any brighter using the "light brightness" feature in the jbeam, it reflects very strangely on other cars and itself. So I just let them stay dim.I'll play with them a bit more later on to see if I can get them to look better.... I wanted to get an actual photo of their beam pattern and try and manipulate that photo to use in Beam so it's using the real thing. But, nowhere in my area has a spot good enough to take a photo that would look good. I would need a big flat white wall... I also have LEDs in mine, so they are ever so slightly different. And the other Vic I have has... Lol. The trunk lid itself is made to open fine with nothing on it. As that is its standard, default setting. When you add the spoiler, or even the antenna, it gets angry and doesn't open. I made it open with those things attached, but then the trunk would open if it had nothing attached to it. It would open with too much force and just bounce back shut. So I left it as is. --- Post updated --- You didn't know you need the Crown Victoria? They're everything in life. <3
as far as I know that right side pointing up is correct (at least in the EU). But if you're thinking of the US marked, flat is the way to go.
US headlights are raised on the right side for each headlight. They are designed to have the light dipped down on the left so they don't blind incoming traffic. --- Post updated --- These are OEM Crown Victoria Headlight housings. Left with LEDs and the right with Halogens. These aren't the best lights in the world, but even with these, you can see that the light is aimed higher on the right side of the beam pattern.
Here's some better thumbnails of the previous two skins and the security one from the Lansdale. I removed the mall insignia so it can be used more universally.
Oh I learned something new. I thought in the US it's only flat, but now I understand Thanks for the clarification. --- Post updated --- When is this update available?
is the update gonna be released later this month? cause im drilled about the tail lights and the light bars, ngl.
You want Liveries for other in-game vehicles? --- Post updated --- I've noticed that with lots of modern projector headlights here, those seem to be more flat. Although, they still raise up on the right ever so slightly. Which seems a bit backwards to me. Lol
