You can either drive back to your garage or pay the tow fee, to my knowledge you can't use any type of fast travel, but generally if you start to get lost, try to stick to outskirt roads and drive slowly, don't be scared to go higher up (like onto a mountain) so you can have a better view, though some sort of map saying where main things are would be cool --- Post updated --- Though the best way to learn your way around is with trial and error, its how i learnt my way around lol, I believe in you ^^
I am playing in Utah but have kinda figured it out. I have questions about the drag races tho. how do I know which cars I have a chance to beat? some cars with the same rewards and rep gain will smoke me while others won't.
That's how the game this mod is inspired by plays out. You can't know until you try. Makes wagers feel more like an actual bet rather than a guaranteed reward.
Also, if you want a rough estimate (like in slrr) take a look at what car their driving, your more likely to smoke a Hopper or Miramar than a cherrier --- Post updated --- Also the ones near the other exit, with the single drag race, tends to be the easiest opponents, while the other two are a bit harder in my opinion (Another note, try a higher gear ratio if your acceleration is really slow, it can make a big difference)
Low ratio = higher speed but slower acceleration High ratio = faster acceleration but lower speed Of course the deeper into the drag challenges the harder it'll get, so make sure to keep an eye on the bet, if it isn't much, then try re-rolling so you can earn more money from each run (I tend to do one on each side of the tunnel) finally, if you want to make absolute certain you can smoke them yourself, try increasing grip and lowering weight In slrr you do this via removal of body panels, seats, trim, exhaust and manifold (it can help in some cases) remove a wing before drag racing because it'll increase weight at speed (downforce) utilising all of this, you can beat most racers, something else that can help, is traffic --- Post updated --- Np I'm glad to try my best to help, I hope my primitive knowledge of drag racing and slrr has helped, and I'm certain you can defeat those racers! Though a safe bet for drags is a D-series, a 4x4 one can be easily won, and its great traction and power, then remove a bunch of parts, and you have a good dragster, upgrade as needed if power band gets out of rev reach get a adjustable one, but otherwise it's a waste, same with the heavy blocks, they'll make you slower, but it's good for higher power cars, also, if you ever think you might get outran, a push bumper can be installed to solve that issue, or if your not in a D-series, go for a pit
Yes, go in freeroam then go in ui app, choose beamlr preset (Not track or game over). Add the minimap. Then to open the full map, there an orange button on the top left of the minimap. You will be able to put waypoint and teleport. Right now the minimap seems bugged, the waypoint will only show up if you choose a location (gas station, parking lot ect.) If you put it anywhere on the map, you will not see the route on the minimap or on the ground. If you teleport, your car will be repaired BUT not the cost to repair it (you still need to pay the repair cost if you want to edit your car) and full your gas tank
Didn't feel like scrolling through the entire thread, but is anyone else getting stuck after selling a vehicle? Also time slowing down to a crawl after sleeping. Amazing mod btw. I love it. Warms the heart of an old SLRR fan Wish i could donate more but alas, am poor.
Btw, something that could be cool is a dynamic price for the towing cost could be a insentive for people further in the game to not always use them
Sometimes it can just glitch out, like that, just try re-entering and it should work again, and what do you mean by time slowing down to a crawl?
Thanks for the donation, I'm glad you like the mod! Time slowing down after sleep isn't something I've seen before, do you mean like the game goes in slow motion or the clock slows down? Being stuck in place after selling I've had happen only once so far but I've seen others report the issue. I'll try to fix it for next version. I think I know what's causing it, especially if players who experience the issue often could confirm this only happens when selling and not when scrapping or losing vehicles to pink slips. Also try checking in world editor for the "unicycle" vehicle, if I'm right it shouldn't be there when you're frozen in place. That's been on my list for small features to add for a bit but I'm still unsure if I really want to add it, as far as I know towing was always pretty cheap in SLRR. Maybe I'll add a small increase in price if you really over use the towing.
Personally it's only ever happened with selling, I've not had it happen with scrapping in the maybe 20 or so cars I've scrapped --- Post updated --- Also something that I understand if you don't add, but I think it'd be cool to see is a demo derby of some sorts (like in slrr) it'd give even more purpose to derby Configs and the heavier vehicles Though like many have said already, great work, this is a truely awesome mod, and I'm excited to see where it goes
Not slow motion but the game time scale just goes super slow after i sleep. Like maybe a tenth of normal speed? Happens regardless of what the time scale setting is at.
the only time i get stuck in place is when i go to the used car place, enter the buy menu, exit and sleep in the same spot to reset cars. This will always freeze my game.
It happened to me once when selling the only vehicle I had, I was frozen and couldnt move or use the ticket bus. Ending the scenario and restarting it fixed it for me. And for the game slowing down after sleep, for me the timescale goes back to 1 each time I sleep. Also, did you remove the healt? Ive got pretty hard crash at 180kmh and never died. Last thing I noticed too, the vehicle damage persistance do not work if I quit the scenario (not alf f4) I still need to pay for repair but the car is repaired after restarting the scenario. Where can I donate? Im loving this mod!
Thank you all for the extra info on the stuck in place bug, I've added a fix I think will solve the issue, we'll see if it worked after I release next update. I might add derby events as a different type of track event in a future update. That's weird, I haven't got that issue yet. I'll see if I can find a cause. You mean the game freezes entirely or just the vehicle is stuck? Health is disabled for now, G force calculations are too inaccurate to work properly as injury detection especially when it can cause death randomly. Now the force required to cause death is a static 95 Gs but the reported G forces are different on different computers. If you have less FPS than I have, it takes a faster crash to die than on my computer. If you have more FPS, a slower crash will be fatal. With low framerate the force at the moment of impact can be lost and even if the true G force was like 200 Gs the game will only report 80Gs. At reverse, with high enough FPS you can get higher G force because the actual peak impact force gets reported more accurately. Damage persistence is also disabled because of beamstates not working with the opening doors. This is something BeamNG devs have to fix, has been on the known issues list for a bit now. Mechanical damage should save properly still but all visual damage, bent axles, ripped off bumpers, will be reset. This system is quite buggy right now so it's possible devs have attempted fixes that prevent damage from reloading even if the feature is turned on. Mechanical damage (like engine or driveshaft broken) should always save and get restored, if that's the issue I'll go take a look. And here is the donation page if you're still interested!
