Still months from now, this is only 1 body of 1 car with not even finished interior and not working skins currently because we are redoing skin UVs, and there are at least 3 bodies per each car + rusty versions, and we haven't reworked any of the extra parts like police and derby stuff yet. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes over a year. I'm also starting my job soon so the progress will be way slower, and after holidays I will likely have to take a break because work + university could be too much and I don't want to have modding to worry about on top of that.
this is all i can find, i dont know if this was a limited test run like this (This 1983 Chevy Caprice Wagon Was Built to Chase Corvettes (caranddriver.com)) or what, might want to try and get into contact with the poster of that video. i assume if it was intended for an fbi car that one was set up like the later military ones without smog equipment
Ok but the car from the article you posted is also super cool, I'll have to add a config based on it. Also do you have any info about the FBI cars? The ones currently in the mod don't seem realistic, and idk what kind of parts they really used.
I have an Idea : What if instead of the rusty body , you add an option in the part menu that weakens the car (or at least a strenght slider)? And for the rust , it could be incluses as a skin
It's not so easy, the rusty parts have very varied strength differences between beams, and if I want to preserve the original crash physics as much as possible, I must keep these values.
Reworked interior featuring full interior collision, properly animated shifter and gear indicator (including the manual shifter), steering wheel that doesn't float mid air after crash with universal steering wheel support, vanilla race seats support, police interior accessories option, reworked slots system, door panels affecting weight. It probably makes the car significantly heavier so I will have to rework the weight balance now.
I always felt the driver's camera was too low in its default position, do you plan on working on that?
Sure thing, take your time with that. Hopefully there will be a better Aerodynic lightbar with the remastered mod...
more manual swaps would be fun. i wanna just desmog a stock 350 and toss a manual+355 welded diff in roadkill style --- Post updated --- cant find any real info on either of these, i presume the fbi cars were based off the police package with more upgraded equipment and less external clues to being special
Speaking of the police package, what was it like for the Oldsmobile? I can only find info about the Chevy one, but it was almost like a separate model, and the Oldsmobile doesn't seem to have anything of the sort
Yeah, Oldsmobile never actually sold duty spec'd vehicles to my knowledge. I'd just use the Caprice or Impala setups. Screw realism.
I mean I know they exist, I even saw one in real life once (somehow). I have seen plenty of photos too. I'm just asking for the specs, the engine, transmission and stuff.
