So earlier, after my Kumon session (don't ask), I came up to the Peugeot 3008 stand near the entrance. I toured around the car and.. I was shocked that this crossover from France.. is actually well made AND affordable! (2.0 million PH pesos for the top of the line I think)

Normally, people stereotype French cars to be absolute garbage, but no! This one is awesome and I can see myself driving one of those.

So here's the question: Have French cars redeemed themselves to be really good cars?

Peugeot actually was known at the Time for their reliable cars and diesel (especially how they made it popular)

On the other side, there is the SM from Citroën and the M34/M35 , wich are EXTREMELY unreliable. Yet , they still did a lot of good cars .

I hate the current reputation they have and i think they deserve better. I am happy i am not the only one to think about that

They do have great cars (Except for that Teepee thing, even then, I will still drive it). Morons like Jeremy Clarkson just wants people to think they're not, look at what happened to the SC430!

Also , something else i gotta Say :

In the late 70's , during the period where gas Price went high (called the Oil crisis in the us i think) , lots french cars were made to be very fuel economic : Peugeot 104 Z , Renault 5 "4cv" , and even the Simca Ariane 400, wich looked like a Bel air , they were all made for this period. So America could've imported these models ....

..but no no no no no, they just reduced the speed limit to 55mph .

Bruh , you could get the same speed with a french car with a better mileage (you just had to wait a bit). HECK , the Simca Ariane even proposes a V8 .

Also , to answer your question :

It's the modern french cars (since the 2000's) that are (aparently) horrible, the best french cars are from the 20th century.

Tho , there are still some good cars such as the Peugeot 1007 , the 206 , the 607 , the Citroën C4 Cactus, the C6, the Xsara and the Renault Twingo.

They suck, and now, having a mint Peugeot 505 in the US is an equivalent of kids seeing a Bugatti.
