This is awesome dude. I had forgotten just how detailed the map textures were for its time(2004) and the surface is surprisingly not that bumpy either.
The details on the maps are very good compared to its rivals at the time and the prepared ground is very suitable for the beam. If the game didn't have strange gameplay and physics bugs, maybe it would get the attention it deserves today.
Just saw this, wow. Hoping to drive in the virtual streets of Driv3r's Miami soon! (Because IRL Miami traffic is horrible). I never played Driver 3 but I did enjoy Parallel Lines on the Wii plenty. Now I'll finally get to see what I've been missing out on.
Hi, currently working on importing the night meshes/textures, considering if they worth doing it. Also trying to add some night lights, also considering if it's worth because of the performance cap.
Driv3r has had the best damage system out of all of the Driver series, so I find it pretty funny that it's being imported into Beam. Fantastic stuff btw, you are planning to have an LOD system for this map right? It's pretty big and I feel like it would run poorly for people with a bit lower end PCs. Another map I wish that someone were able to import is the Driver: San Francisco map, I've tried in the past before with NinjaRipper but with no luck as it imports only a section of the map and the orientation of everything gets messed up in the process. I wonder if anyone in the Driver Madness community is able to make a tool for the game that allows you to export or mess around with it.
If Driv3r maps are able to get ripped, would the Driver: San Francisco map be viable as well? I'd love to see that ported by someone/port it myself.
With the developments last year, Driv3r maps can be viewed outside of the game with a program called CityEditor. In this way, I was able to export them with Ninjaripper in a more workable way. Maps have been added to the game as region by region. Only the high lods are in the game. I'm guessing it's playable at low setting 900p - 1080p with over 30fps (in daylight, no traffic) for the low spec pc's. Currently, afaik, even that there is some in game modding tools/examples done in recently, there are no development in batch exporting for Driver: San Francisco or Driver: Parallel Lines maps.
Bit of a bummer. Always wanted the DSF Map in beam. Guess I'll have to wait for someone to create a model ripping tool for it then
I can“t wait for this project. Especially for Nice and Istanbul. Just release it even when some bits are missing, this is like a wet dream for an old driv3r veteran <3
Please dear authour, continue with this or release it as it is. This is too much for an old Driv3r fan to know that someone started (and apparently is very far in the process) of porting these maps to beamng and then letting it sit on some pc to never release it..
