    Hi

I recently bought a Suzuki WagonR+ to use as a daily driver.
I thought it would be funny to rebadge the Suzuki logo to Ibishu. I have access to a 3D printer so I thought about going that route.

I am pretty sure the LORE brands within BeamNG are subject to copyright.
Are anyone able to confirm rather or not I would be able to do this, without breaking any copyright?

It should be fine as long as you don't use it commercially to my knowledge. But since I'm not entirely sure about that, I recommend you contacting the devs about that.

3d printing anything (copyrighted or not) to put on your own car for personal non business use is not copyright infringement. What are you worried about? A cease and desist letter? Hahahahaha

not really no, don’t think anything would happen but I just highly respect BeamNG and wanted to make sure. No need to act like that btw, grow up.

    Ty for the replies.

It did seem like a pointless post to make as I suspect you knew the answer already.

If I put a Mercedes badge on my Chrysler, is it copyright infringement?

I mean, Daimler-Chrysler existed, so that's not a particularly good example.

    same basic principle though.

Although you are right that the first gen 300s are like 75% W211 E-Class underneath.

    Bad example.

In this case, I am actively re-producing (aka copying) name and logo.

This is why I'm not active on here anymore, just as many rude people as when I left.

Yes, for your OWN. personal. usage. - therefore it’s obviously not copyright infringement!!!!!

I fail to see what you thought was rude about me giving you advice in response to your question.

If it was my cease and desist joke, it was a light hearted one and it’s a shame you took offence to it.

Brand names and logos are generally relevant to trademark more so than copyright. The Ibishu logo may not even be artistic enough to be considered copyrighted at all. I searched and didn't find any trademark registrations for it either.

Even if BeamNG had trademarked Ibishu, it'd be fine for personal use. As long as you're not trading under the brand name or being confused with it/bringing it into disrepute etc. Just don't put a BeamNG logo on it and make them look bad by going viral on the internet for driving badly and I'm sure you'll be fine! ;)

In most countries of the world(including mine),if you don't use it commercially,it will be fine to use other's IP achievements like music, pictures and trademarks. So if you really use the Ibishu brand on your Wagon R,it will be fine
