I hate that thread. There's so much "mum's crossover" and "thing that is very similar to a car that's already ingame". I see no reason reason for the devs (or modders, for that matter) to look at that thread for inspiration. I'd rather see discussions about what vehicle types/roles/niches the game would benefit from, especially from a gameplay perspective.
Not speculation, but because we don't have such a thread so I have to write here. I think now that BeamNG has most if not the majority of common vehicle types in the game now, I would really like to see them focus on more quirky & unique vehicles, especially in terms of drivetrain & suspension, like your aforementioned Citroen, Covini C6W, Chrysler Turbine, Mercedes-Benz Daimler Motor Carriage, Polaris Slingshot, Saab 9000 Prometheus, Gibbs Aquada etc. etc. This is the type of content where BeamNG shines & seeing such unusual vehicles represented in a game, which is so realistic would be a really cool thing to experience & would potentially bring in even more players wanting to experience such weirdness that no other game has If any BeamNG staff is reading & is interested, I have a list of almost 200 unique (in some way) vehicles which would fit the game nicely
Peugeot 404 and (Legendary) 504 would be cool because, not only there could be lots of body , but most importantly , to code old Diesels . They had the peticularity to run on oil , used Oil ,etc.... And a 404 diesel record would be cool to experiment areodynamic
Maybe force field at top and bottom and low gravity can do that? And bunch of wigeons with no collision with each other in big lava lamp.
I was just thinking, the old V8 cars; the Bluebuck, Barstow, Moonhawk, and Burnside, sound nothing like what they should. They need a throaty old-school V8 rumble. Also, the Special practically no customization or configs, and its pretty bad.
Or any other car you choose, I might add! --- Post updated --- The crunchy idle is also very characteristic of those old V8s, especially when tuned (so, equipped at least with the Stage 1 Performance Long Block and with the Race Exhaust/No Exhaust). On the other hand, the crunchy idle may not be entirely appropriate to the more luxurious "Marshal" versions of the Bluebuck and the "378 Luxe V8" versions of the Moonhawk, which have to have larger silencers for a more relaxed driving experience.
