I have an issue where I spend a lot of wasted time looking for specific mods on google all the time. I would love to use the built in search bar but I have some issues with it. For example when I type in the "search" bar on the beam ng website it gives me ether threads or users and neither are helpful when I'm am searching key words like (add-on or t-series i8). So usually I use google as a substitute but google isn't prone to problems either and I just find random mods that are not helpful towards the search. So my suggestion is if you could make the search bar easier to use and can separate different forms of searching (mods, forums, and users). That would be such a life saver for I think all people who uses the beam ng website. I hope this was helpful to anyone who cares
The search bar could definitely have some improvements. To be fair, the forums page is almost as old as BeamNG 0.3. That makes it about 10 years old.
Forget the search bar, it's way too convoluted to use it properly. Here's a neat trick: how to search within one website. For example, typing site:beamng.com cadillac lowrider download will give you results where one of those words was mentioned – you may not get the exact result (is there any Cadillac lowrider for Beam?), but you get the closest Google can find. Typing site:beamng.com "ghost_cauli's skins and things" (with the keyword in quotation marks) will link you to every page related to this specific name – repo page, forum thread, reviews... You can mix and match broad and precise keywords, play a little with it and you'll get the idea. Just make sure you don't put space between site: and the website link, otherwise it won't work.
that's a good point, I've tried that but I want there to be a filter between mods, forums, reviews and profiles. that works most of the time but sometimes I don't want 95% automation and the other 5% to be respiratory when I'm looking for a respiratory.
sorry for the misspell --- Post updated --- when you are scrolling through the beam ng reposatory, you see the little preview images and that's what I like about beam ng but google doesn't show that so when your looking for a specific one you basically have to click on each one. thank you though
