So, basically you can post things you know about BeamNG and the Forums here and share your knowledge with other people . Have a nice time. Thread posting rules: 1. Please do not spam off-topic. 2. Please keep with in the Forums ToS at all times or you will be reported. 3. Please don't post inappropriate Text, Images or anything else that shows any explicit content or report. 4. Please don't argue with other users or you will be reported. 5. Please only post content that will help other users learn. Note: Not all of these rules have been set by the BeamNG team but some by me, you do not have to follow Rule 5 and Rule 1 in some threads.
Hello good sir, were you aware that the 'Quit Game' button in the Main Menu is highlighted in a solid red so it is easier for users to locate? This is a common game design element that countless titles omit, often resulting in users being left stranded starting at the menus with no way out... what a bleak fate! All too often I see Gamers succumb to this oversight in titles.
BeamNG doesn't count Forum messages in off-topic, which can lead to bizarre scenarios in which a user posting regularly on off-topic forums has a message count of 0 or just a generally low message count.
If there’s even a single spelling mistake in a materials file, like a Spacebar in between a „true”, the whole car can turn „no material”. Also, if there is an error in a jbeam which makes it unreadable, the console gives a „unable to read JSON” error.
If you upload a mod on a weekend, you will have to wait until at least Monday until your mod is approved. This is because the guy who approves mods does not work on weekends.
Thanks for the tips/info! I am glad people have found this thread as it can help new players learn the Game/Forums features.
If you type "HB" as the regional code on vanilla German license plates, the coat of arms of Bremen will appear. This is because "HB" is indeed the German regional code for Bremen, which is the city BeamNG has its headquarters in.
The idea of this thread is awesome I will probably post some things later, anyways a small tip I got is- Using a controller/gamepad or a steering wheel is highly recommended
Thanks for your kind message about it being awesome! Also yeah, BeamNG's keyboard controls are crap, so that's why I sometimes use my wheel or if not then an Xbox controller.
You know BeamNG career mode? The button that always says "Coming Soon"? Well, you can actually play an early, unfinished WIP version of it by simply spam-clicking the button in the main menu.
A tip for Controller/Steering wheel users: Default if you press left or right D-Pad you can toggle slow motion speed!
For my fellow license plate modders: Do not use the vanilla European license plate textures for your license plate mods; they do not match the size of the license plate in-game and can make the textures look off and pixely. Instead use a texture with a resolution of 1024x216px to make it look right. (Thanks to htnv for telling me about this!)
Hmmm about the game? Idk the gas pedal go vroom. - - - - - - - - - - I remember when the devs made blogposts about deformable trees before retconning it into oblivion. Recall when we were supposed to have a visual wheel selector which never materialized. Furthermore the forums were overrun in late 2017 into 2018 with some of the nonsense ever. I love you BeamNG!
A bit more of a fun fact, but the Piano prop is manufactured by Hirochi, which means there are 3 „vehicles” in the game that are Hirochi.
The "Hirochi Grand-P" --- Post updated --- In BeamNG lore it is possible that Japan and America had a war and America won and managed to claim JRI!
Little detail: In Belasco City/WCU there's a full train line and it actually has a pretty detailed train station, even has a full lift/elevator.
