Would it be possible to make an absolutely ridiculous car in this game? For example, taking the Vanster, and making it super grippy and super fast, and also make it so that the beams and nodes are very hard to deform. Basically, would it be possible to recreate a burnout game with this? XD

One thing that used to amuse me is that in burnout revenge, when an ai car puts on the brakes and starts skidding, the car actually gains speed.

Yeah but the point was to see if it would be possible to stretch this game to its very limits of ridiculous-ness like some sort of insane taffy.

Well... Why would they do that? You're talking about another game.
You're suggesting to take this game -which is about realism- and transforms it into some wierd kind of Burnout rip-off?
What exactly is the point of BeamNG then?

The point of all games isn't being as reallistic as they can be. Games are for entertaining, learning etc. Many people complain on youtube vids that it wouldn't be good for GTA because you would need a new car every minute. So why not make the cars more durable than in reality but still having benefits of reallistic mechanisms like deformation, engine damage... the whole behavior of cars can be better even if the cars are able to survive more damage.

Agreed, the physics realism would not be fun in any "game".(more frustrating really) i foresee a lot of broken controllers.. a good balance is definitely needed.

If you make a car stronger, you'd need to increase spring stiffness. As a consequence the car would be ridiculously bouncy so you'd have to increase damping as well and thats the critical value which can make simulation unstable. You can try it yourself when it is out, I don't think that BeamNG team would waste time on such experiments.

A long time ago, Gabester said it would be possible to have a large, floppy penis and crash it into stuff...
