RAM Upgrade on my laptop

First, I don't know very much about computer Hardware.
I am planning to upgrade the RAM of my gaming laptop from 16 GB to 64 GB.
Now, I was wondering if I should choose 64 GB DDR5-4800 or 64 GB DDR5-5200.
Is it better to buy the faster memory or is 4800 mhz enough for BeamNG?

 

First of all, what is your CPU?

From the specs of your cpu, it dosen't support higher than 4800mhz, so it is usless to get higher than that.

If you are comfortable with overclocking the cpu, then you can reach an higher clock speed.

 

Since my cpu works just fine, I don't think there is a need for overclocking.

 

What programs are you running that need 64 GB of RAM?, if your games or programs don't utilize the 16 GB you already have then there is no point in upgrading.

I have 32 GB but i have never seen anything that use more than 16 GB, if i remember correct the highest usage i have seen with BeamNG and the OS is around 12-13 GB playing on the biggest maps with traffic.

 

Well if i play beamng with traffic my 16 gb ram is always at 100%, so i want to have more ram.

 

This guy is not right, me too my 16gb ram was topping out at 100% when I was playing beamng, tho, 32gb of ram was enough for me.

if you overclock your cpu, you will be able to take faster ram.

 

But 4800mhz ram is fast enough?
I don't want to overclock my cpu.

 

Ok so then, don't go higher than 4800, and are you sure you neede 64gb of ram? 32gb should be enough for playing beamng, 16gb isn't enough tho.
