Congrats Agent_Y on your promotion! If you happen to read this. Someone asked me about moving front wheels back and the back wheels forward to match some custom unibody of some other car. So the wheels match where the cutout is on the front fender and rear quarter panel. Not much, maybe 1/4 of a meter. But enough that just moving the wheel DAE causes a lot of wobble of the mesh. That particular jbeam looks like rocket science when I look at it. Uses all those variables. I suspect the axle would have to be moved at minimum. in order for the wheel's jbeam to properly move too. I combed through the suspension and drivetrain jbeam, even looked at the wheel jbeam. Was thinking all I would have to do is move the axle nodes that the wheel connects to. So I tried to load the jbeam into old jbeam editor to see the nodes and it shows nothing in there. Think that level of jbeam is beyond what the old jbeam editor can display is my guess for that. Not looking for a full explanation on what to do, just general finger point in the direction to start looking. Thanks! And I understand if time does not allow for an answer. Believe me, haha, I know... - Thanks!
I'm sorry but I specifically stated in the mod's description that I don't want people to mess with the files of this mod. I know you don't have bad intentions, but it applies equally to everyone, so I can only kindly ask you to stop editing it.
I understand that. That is a relief to me because I did not want to mess with it to be honest lol. I will post this on my Community Channel for all to see if that's okay with you. To be honest, I am naive to others intentions. I will tell anyone asking in the future about mods you or anyone else create to ask permission first. And I will know if it's okay because you have my inbox to let me know. I get it though, I would feel the same way if I painted someone a picture for someone, and they had some terrible artists add an outhouse to the painting and it was not what I wanted other people to know me for. Oh, that Martin can sure paint ugly outhouses lol... Code is a piece of artwork. You're an artist too. Thanks for responding! If you have that handy, the message that you are referring too, I will paste that in the community tab for all to see. Should be all I would need to tell people.
Do you want to change the wheelbase of the vehicle? If that's the case, for an unibody vehicle, you can search for "suspension" in body.jbeam, and for a body on frame vehicle, search for it in frame.jbeam. The line that will be found ["XXX_suspension_R","XXX_axle_R","Rear Suspension"], Change to ["XXX_suspension_R","XXX_axle_R","Rear Suspension", {"nodeMove":{"x":0.0,"y":0.0,"z":0}}], The same applies to the front suspension. Change the y-axis coordinates, save the file, Ctrl+R in the game, and the suspension position will be changed immediately. (You need to decompress the mod within the game)
This would not work on this mod, and it's generally not a good idea to do it like this, because moving suspension around while keeping the shock tops in the same position (as they are part of the body) can completely ruin the geometry.
This mod is like rocket science.Or its like looking at the formula for coca cola. No idea what any of it means. The amount of anxiety working on the code like this could be compared to how the scientist likely felt working on the Demon Core. One slip of a screw driver and its all over.
