please read the other posts before replying otherwise youre just wasting time. im sorry thats just the way it is, ive already answered questions like this many times.
this would be very useful but i wouldnt be sure on how to implement it, if anyone knows then please let me know as i want to get it updated as soon as possible --- Post updated --- nevermind ive figured it out. for once a useful feature that helps sound modders lmao i do love these devs
it will use the same filters and distance based stuff that the default sounds use, which is good as it means rear engined vehicles will have the engine sound placed at the rear. like how in my mod the sbr4 has the intake sound coming out of the front of the car which is incorrect, but couldnt be changed with modded sounds before this update.
This won't change where the sound emitter is, but using the "_rear" sound event will point it in the correct direction. I personally don't know how the emitter placvement works, but if the engine is physically at the rear, the sound should come from it.
I wonder if they could eventually find a way to allow global sound replacements for all vehicles without breaking things, so that modded cars or engines that use default sounds will get affected.
