Every time i launch steam Vr it dosent show the option to launch into vulkan mode but when i dont have steam Vr on it shows the launcher. 3. The steam Vr app just goes crazy when i have beamng in the background. And i have a HP Reverb G2

Yes, roll Horizon lock works correctly. The missing piece of the puzzle is a pitch Horizon lock that behaves the same as the roll (lock to horizon up to a certain angle, then attaches to car to account for the car flipping over and such)

If possible, it would be nice if VR mode had it's own horizon lock options with both pitch and roll set to 100% by default.

One thing I would also like is a horizon lock for the external cameras as well as the camera pitching up and down feels disorienting.

EDIT: Probably doesn't need to be a priority, but it would enhance the experience if the interior camera overrides the horizon lock when the car begins rolling at a high angular velocity. That way the camera doesn't keep switching between horizon lock and unlocked when the car is rolling from a crash.

How did you get it working in safe mode? How do you turn on the Open XR thing?

A quick review of VR: Everything works fine although I do hope that performance can be improved over time, (partly my problem tho since I have 8gb of VRAM) since I can only run small island with a playable framerate of around 30-40fps on really low settings, and all I have to do is spawn a car with a high poly count and the fps will drop down to 15-20, so I'm just barely able to run it.

The one major problem I've had is that after the hotfix, the key binds for activating VR and centering the camera don't work anymore, and I cant even use the button for centering in the display menu, which means I cant center my camera at all anymore. And one small issue I had (which could be oculus's fault idk) is that the when I try resetting my view in oculus, I have to point the controller to the left way too far in order for me to be facing straight.

Overall its good I just wish it wasn't so performance intensive so I could play on bigger maps, and I hope the controls breaking will be fixed.

Also my specs incase that helpful to anyone:
    AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
    32GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset (linked via cable)

If it doesnt show up over SteamVR you need to set SteamVR to the primary OpenXR viewer in the settings

Great hotfixes to the VR update. It's stopped crashing on my system!

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, when going OFFROAD, grass, dirt and water particles come through the floor of the car. Has the Dev team noticed this? Just wondering if this will be something that can be fixed?

Using the Varjo Aero HMD, I'm getting a "0x00000001" code crash as soon as I try to activate VR via button click.
I'm not using SteamVR, but Varjo's software is OpenXR-compatible and works well with standalone OpenXR via OpenComposite (e.g. for Assetto Corsa and AMS2).
Happy to hear any tips you may have in mind, thanks!

    Update:
BeamNG won't work with Varjo's OpenXR runtime, you need to use SteamVR instead:
    1. Open Varjo Base, go to Settings
    2. Uncheck OpenXR
    3. Open SteamVR, go to OpenXR tab
    4. Make sure SteamVR is selected as the current OpenXR runtime, click Set SteamVR as OpenXR runtime button if necessary
    5. Disable option referring to "overlays"
This works when already in VR desktop mode; in my case it wasn't necessary to restart the VR system in the process.
Note that in order to run other OpenXR applications (e.g. Assetto Corsa via OpenComposite), these changes need to be reverted.

First of all, thanks for getting this implemented. It's a huge addition to the game and I'm very excited to get it working.

I am however having an issue I think a few others have as well: on trying to start VR, nothing appears to happen, and the SteamVR status shows BeamNG immediately closing and SteamVR Home restarting.

This is using a Valve Index, 2080ti, and 9700K. Same behavior if I'm in a map or in the menu, or if I start VR before/after loading the game.

Okay guys, I think I may have found a solution for us that are not able to launch VR mode at all.

Launch SteamVR > Settings > OpenXR Make sure the setting is showing SteamVR. (see the attached image).
    Close down SteamVR.
    Launch game in Vulkan mode.
Enter a map and press the Start VR key combo or button, if you have mapped a button.
    This worked for me.

Open SteamVr, click on the drop down menu, go to settings, then OpenXR, then click "current XR Runtime"

SteamVR is my OpenXR runtime, but this sequence doesn't change the behavior for me.

    Ok. I'm in.

    PC Specs:

    Intel i9-10900K
    32 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER

    Headset:
    HP Reverb G2

It's incredibly laggy. Unplayable. And the menu is all messed up, unpositioned, laggy, and most of the screen is blue. I had to use my monitor's menu.

Ok, in safe mode at the lowest settings it works. But as soon as I drive more than 5 meters or so, the game crashes and says "0xC0000005 - STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION"

I can't seem to turn down my settings low enough. Everything is on the lowest possible, shadows disabled, VR targeting 75% resolution and lowest allowed framerate (80 fps on the Valve Index,) and my VRAM usage is still capping out. All possible background processes are disabled. I've "only" got a 3070ti and therefore only 8GB, but the game will not run any map aside from gridmap small, and even then only with the oldest, lowest detail cars. Loading anything more complicated or trying a different map immediately freezes the game and I need to manually restart it. How are people playing at all with 8GB VRAM? I hope there will be some more optimizations coming as the development continues to allow for 8GB cards to play as well, since that's still the standard that 85% of cards are made with (which is embarrassing on the card makers' end tbh) From the limited playing I've tried on the empty map, the feature seems pretty solid for a test release, and even though i'm a bit bitter I'm happy the devs added support for VR regardless since I think it's super cool. Fingers crossed that I can play in the future without dropping cash on a new GPU

Still no luck getting BeamNG to connect to my Reverb headset. My steps:
Open Steam>Enter VR mode>STEAMVR beta 1.27.5>Settings>OpenXR>SET STEAMVR AS OPENXR RUNTIME>In Steam, right click on BeamNG>Manage>Brows Local Files>Launch (Vulkan)>Load into gridmap>Options>Display>Turn On/Off>Understood>In the HP Reverb VR set the words “BeamNG Drive Up Next” shows up in a small box before immediately showing Steam Home and directs me back to the lounge. Have spent a few hours trying different things, reboots, etc. No luck even though many have been able to get the Reverb to work.

My game freezes/crashes after 5-30min of gameplay and I can't figure out a solution... I'm able to play fine apart from that and it runs fine on my current settings but I tried lowering them aswell to no avail

strange, I loaded my game up on my regular 3070 and R5 3600x without any issue. The FPS was maybe around 50-60 on some settings turned down and dynamic reflections off.
