Took me this long to realise the 1996 Pessima actually has two Touring Car liveries. They disguised it as a "Rally Livery" but you can't tell me they didn't totally mean for it to be a touring car, even the number is the same. It's a real shame it doesn't fit the body kit though. I often trash the official liveries a lot, I don't like many of them. But who ever it was that made the Pessima liveries - I owe them a little credit.
Honestly, the rally livery is a bit of a stretch. It's similar, and could be used as a JTCC car (then there's the fact that it's used for the rally config), but it's not as strikingly similar as the actual touring car skin. OT:
It isn't a stretch at all, if you know what to look for. Obviously the actual Touring Car skin is more similar (even tho it still misses a lot of details). The "Rally" Livery takes a heap of inspiration from the JTCC Honda and there's no doubt about it. The number. The decal placement (there is space for logos that should be there but aren't) The design choice with the stripes, and the fact that the rims are forced to be the same colour as the bumpers. It's just been simplified / stripped down, with a little originality sprinkled in. And, it can't simply be a coincidence that both of the '96 Pessima liveries are based on Honda Accords either.
"dude you totally cheated with that drag race back there what kinda start was that" "that was an oklahoma landrush start they've been doing it since the 1600s" anyone who got that reference, congrats, we are friends now
Quite frankly, this looks like a stretch. The Pessima there looks more like loosely inspired by this, I wouldn't call it a copy (especially when the other livery is a very close copy). But, I see how it could be tweaked to resemble it more – it is a bit empty when you compare these two. OT:
Ah yes, I also enjoy small serif fonts that I cannot read without zooming in 300%. Your skins are mid. I never said it was a copy, just pointing out where the inspiration clearly came from - and the fact that I appreciate any and all references to 90's Touring Cars. I definitely wouldn't call it a stretch, since you don't need to stretch very far to see that the Pessima and the Accord liveries are similar. And, all BeamNG liveries are criminally 'empty' - plenty of space for different sponsors but they don't and they just copy-paste the same logos all over the car, on every car. OT:
It's been a while since I wanted to compile this BeamNG Extended Universe brand/decal pack (including stuff from KLJP and other more significant packs) and update those vanilla skins with more varied sponsors and such, because indeed they are criminally empty. Also, well, at least my skins are still up on the repo B)
My bad, I was asking for that. Your skins are alright - and mine will be out again soon... Been working on HQ BeamNG decals myself for ages, I also wanted to make a pack for them (we could collaborate our efforts perhaps?) There's a few I did for the Sergal Liveries - official, but not found on any of the vanilla liveries. OT: Got the oldies out to see how big of a performance difference there was to the new one. More than ten seconds a lap on Hirochi's Medium layout is the difference apparently. My driving is also very bad, so that might also be why.
