What size is your terrain block?

Best way is to go to terrain, export terrain, the. Take the heightmap that dumps into your map folder (in the export folder) and scale that up in a program like gimp. The maximum you can go to is 8192x8192.

Then import this into your map, using maths to change the sizes correctly. Also use the (also upscaled) alphas the export output for each of the terrain types, so the textures are applied correctly.

You will likely have some stepping issues, so might need to run a Gaussian blur on your heightmap and re-import. That'll mean it isn't a perfect fit, but it'll be close.

It'll also mess your terrain textures up so you'll have to update them to stretch over 8192x8192 in the material editor.

But that should work. It'll be fiddly.

Thank you!! This is exactly all i want, giant map with smooth terraint tools in squaresize 1.

Now need help with textures. I imported heightmap in smallgrid, upgraded textures, all materials(some imported) are brown. This smalgrid have terrainblock of 64 x 64. Need a least 2048 x2048

Very apreciated with easy guide. Tried some pbr guides. No luck and no changes in textures, i need import cool pbr textures or work on a grid template tha have loaded all textures and terrainblock with decent resolution.

Going to create the best rally map ever.

Look up Terry Martin Art on Youtube for a crash course in PBR.

I did a map tutorial that is a little outdated, but it may help:

Otherwise, getting your terrain textures to work is always a challenge. You need to make sure that the values in the terrain editor match those that you're using.

If you're using textures that are 2048x2048, this must be entered into the editor (or the JSON). Similarly, if you use a larger terrain size, you need to enter this into the editor too, to make sure the terrain is stretched to the right size.

You will need to understand how BeamNG terrain textures work.

    These should help.

    Thank you!

Testing importing and with textures, figured out for error, a very easy way to import any heightmap and use all textures for the map you want to mod.

When import the heightmap, just put the same name of the current terrainblock, so when you click Import, the terrain is replaced. The colors and textures are Brown/Black, don't panic, just clic add terrain material in the Terrain Painter Windows, you will see all the materials for the current world, add some, delete the warning material and thats it!, Have fun painting with materials and textures fixed.
