    Please double check you didn't mess with the Options > Display > VR > "Closest rendered distance" slider. If so, revert it back to the default (minimum value).

    13900k Test with a Vega Frontier HBM 16gb and and AMD HBCC memory allocation set to 24gb.
    32gb 6400 cl36 ddr5

    Quest 2 Air link

    Report Run about 35 fps on medium and it pretty smooth even with 24 ai.
    Ultra is about 8 FPS unplayable.
    Ultra with all option disabled except blur and reflection. About 15-22 fps. Somewhat playable without too many AI.

    VRAM 22gb Max usage
    RAM max usage 30gb on 32gb.


    So everyone having issue. Your running out of either vram or ram. This is a Vega 64 Profesionnal edition with 16gb instead of 8gb so about the same performance.


    Run better than my 6800xt did in vorpx to give you an idea. But i sold that card.

    I solved the issue, it wasn't related to Beam.NG at all, sorry about that.

    It only occurs when using VR with BeamNG, so I think it's probably a BeamNG issue...

    G2 Reverb + I9 9900 + 2080S here. I had terrible fps, like 1 fps. What I did was first load a scenario, then press the go to VR button.
    The fix for me was to go into VR in the main menu and then start a scenario - full 90fps.

    Absolutely LOVE the VR mod! Doing all this stunting in VR is an absolute blast. Hope you guys keep working on improving this (and personally I'd love to see native OpenXR support so I can bypass Steam and use OpenXR toolkit, that will give me a huge performance boost).

    My hero :) It runs so, SO much better without SteamVR. On my 2080S I had to use low settings and a resolution of 50% with Steamvr - but biggest issue was that SteamVR crashes often when switching between Scenarios.
    Now - No more crashes at all and with OpenToolkit (FSR, FFR and field of view set to 90%) I run it at Normal graphic settings, 100% resolution and still get 90fps.

    Thanks for the reply, but what about Parallel projection in the pimax pitool settings? Any plans to work on that? Everything except UI (in my testing at least)renders correctly with it turned off, having it turned on fixed UI misalignment but costs quite a chunk of performance. Hope I won't have to turn it on in the future :)

    You sadly seem to not be using a complete OpenXR implementation or a years old one. My headset has tilted lenses and your runtime straight up just assumes that all headsets are built with parallel cameras, this should never happen. Makes it completely crosseyed for me

    Hello Guys,

    i know it frustating. You want to play VR Beamng.. but after 1 Min in the drive.. u get the evil freeze.
    But i think i found a solution for that problem. I tested around since release of the vr update.
    All the hotfixes doesnt fix the problem for me. I can tell u know:

    Install CK Graphics Mod and test out my settings. Eventually other settings works better for u.
    Give it a try. Its weekend und can eventually have a good weekend. I dont know why it works.
    But it works! I have 90 fps constant in Westcoast speeding in my etk over the highway. :)

    My Specs:

    RTX 4090
    i7 13700KF
    32 GB DDR4
    SSD Kingston Fury Renegade
    HMD: Pico Neo 3 Link (connected over Display Port)

    Hello. I really enjoy the VR with beamng. I have a HP reverb. I juste find the FOV quite akward since it kills any sense of speed. I didn't have this issue with assetto corsa in which you can modify the FOV to find the most realistic setting.
    Didn't find any way to do it in BeamNG. Did I missed something?

    I'm having a blast with VR, but sadly also experience a lot of crashes.

    I feel like i've found a reproducable crash, and with that, a way to "avoid" it for the time being. I don't know if this might be any help in fixing things?
    In Italy, when i spawn in at "Città Vecchia", I can drive through the part south of the city for hours without crashing, as long as I don't cross the red line south of the "Apex Lucera" gas station in this image.
    Driving past this line will always cause fatal freezes in VR, and turning around has always prevented freezes. i've had 90 minute sessions without problems, and can even "safely" rocket jump the hero bus into the valley, as indicated by the green line...


    Could this mean that the freezes occur during transitions between chunks of the map or something?
    If i can provide any useful logs, or if info like this is useful, let me know, i can probably find more situations like this that cause "predictable" crashes

    Just got a Reverb G2 and it works okay at 70% resolution on gridmap

    I run out of VRAM on every other map though, on RTX 3080 Ti. How do you reduce it? The performance is also really bad on other maps, 40fps in ECUSA on low settings, 50% res. 180fps without VR. The audio was also coming out of my speakers, not the headset for some reason. Ok now there's just no audio at all...

    Also, I wish there was an option to not link the rotation of the headset to the vehicle, it's really weird when the car isn't on flat ground.

    Okay so at the moment I am still having trouble with starting the vr because when I click turn on/off it instantly crashes, probably already solved but couldn't find it.
