only if it's possible to put energy directly into said battery like refueling, not charging(converting electrical energy to chemical energy) --- Post updated --- Also I hate the new prius, large rim w/ low-profile tires again, ewwwwwwwwwwwww, also not energy efficient(higher rolling resistance & air resistance compared to older generation priuses)
There are some tests with condensators but those are primarly interesting for hybrid busses. I am not quite sure why you would wanna use condensators though with fast charging back to 80 % battery taking only 15 - 20 minutes with 350 KW chargers nowadays. Condensators are great for short term power storage but not really suited for long term power storage. They are also somewhat dangerous at the energy levels required. More dangerous probably than a battery that structurally consists of hundreds or thousand of single cells which have an individual low voltage. While battery degradation is a thing, the availability of good enough range in the first place and the actual comparable low loss of capacity makes that not such an big issue. Especially not with both home and fast charging being available pretty much anywhere in the industrialized world at the end of the decade. Ahh yes... I can understand your pain about the Prius but I guess the problem is that a large part of the market simple favours large looking, imposing vehicles... and damm the energy efficiency drawbacks. I mean SUVs are for some reason popular besides being one of the worst chassis designs you can have for driving on asphalt. Good grief. If they can't get us one way they'll get us another. At what point do we get tired of the regulation treadmill and just say "it's good enough as it is, stop looking for things to handwring over because we're not listening anymore"?
1980 AMC Eagle Limited How many of y'all think I should buy this? It's about two hours south of me, and I love it. 4WD, brown, economical, AMC wagon? Yes, please! It's also a really good price. I think I'm going to go for it. It's a 1980 model, so it has the non-eggcrate grille, too. It would be my new daily driver. I'd go for some factory mudflaps, thin whitewalls, and a new lighter, too.
Yeah. Check out these ads from AMC. They're masterpieces. American Motors Car Commercial 1980 AMC Eagle SX/4 Commercial 1980 AMC Eagle commercial AMC Eagle Commercial
Recently our battery has been acting up, and draining itself while inactive. Previously this only happened during winter, but it just died during the summer. Luckily my dad just got a new multimeter to test out the connections. I also got to search through this book to find the fuse diagram(it’s quite large )

wow congratulations thats amazing i love those! i have the matchbox version, --- Post updated --- back on topic, i made this diagram of every honda step wgn generation just cuz,
Cool, hows it run?, seems good enough to do 60. Anything to immediately on the horizon? Ah i miss that feeling when you buy your new (to you that is) old car, that feeling for me was cut short not even 23 hours after i bought mine. That 85mph speedo is cute haha, hope you git gud with your hands real soon as these old things can be brutal in your early stages of catching up with overdue maintenance, anyways happy travels!
Well, when I bought it, it stalled when I first started it (after buying, I had started it before I bought it, too) and at a stop sign, but that was just a combination of old gas and a poorly adjusted choke. Other than that, it runs great, and the factory AMC radio sounds amazing. I can steer with my pinky. It even has the factory hot air hose! The A/C and heat don't work, but otherwise, there's not a ton of mechanical stuff. I may swap the transfer case for a Jeep unit, for selectable 4WD and low range, but that's a project for winter. --- Post updated --- It has an AMC 258 (4.2L) I6.
If its a two barrel then that would be the lovable Carter BBD, very simple to pull apart and clean out, if you have any questions on it then feel free to ask And it even has a working radio, im slightly envious. Now how do the brakes feel?, i presume they're powered? the problem with vacuum assisted systems is that its a slight more difficult to detect braking issues, probably wanna bleed it just to get some fresh fluids in there, you'd be amazed how few people ever change their brake fluid
It has a 2-barrel BBD, yeah. The brakes are surprisingly good, but yeah, it needs new fluids, as the current fluids have been sitting in it for a year. I’m also going to get all the lines checked.
You shouldnt have too much trouble finding a BBD, though it becomes a problem finding one not too worn out to fix, though you can always buy off ebay, but getting a manifold might be difficult, however i know next to nothing about these... --- Post updated --- i should say though if your planning some offroad stuff it best to avoid the BBD on account of its float design, suffice to say they dont like steep inclines or jolts..
I am not planning to go off-road, except maybe a few trails. I’m trying to make it into a daily driver. Should I put some thin whitewalls on the car? I don’t know if it would ruin the look or not. It does need new tires.
Well you should be alright then. Hell yeah! Definitely go for thin whitewalls. Gotta have that maximum '80s box chad goodness !
