Also, for anyone who wonders, the train rails & line continues and comes up to the upper floor of the WC bridge that leads to the little island and ends there.
It’s possible to get out of bounds on WCUSA without teleporting by driving on the far end of the beach
the new cja will probably out-download (?) the og cja, since beamng has a lot more players now. Who knows how many new players there will be and peel p50s will always win and Teslas will always lose
You CAN actually change the license plate design on default trailers, it's just hidden under "Additional Modification" for whatever reason.
I just learned you can fix a car on a trailer so you dont lose it in every corner. Step 1: Load your car on your favourite trailer. Step 2: Hold CTRL and scroll down with your mouse wheel to reduce the strength of the node to max 100-150kg. Step 3: Hold CTRL + left click a node your car (e.g. wheels). Step 4: While holding CTRL + left click: move to a node on your trailer and press mouse wheel. Done!
When you open the game, its on the main menu. If you press alt+u (without loading into a map) it makes the screen go black. Press it again and it will go back. This usually makes the UI disappear. So I guess the background photos are part of the UI.
The first beamNG mod was Penguin villNG which released in 2012, long before the first public release and the early access version for mythbuster --- Post updated --- BeamNG’s burnside and gavril brands come from gabester’s rigs of rods mods, way before beamng was a thing
I was driving around some map (probably WCUSA) and I noticed some graffiti that said something like "The cars drive like they're on ice!". I chuckled to myself because I remember that being a complaint from a lot of people who played the game and I thought it was cute that the designer of the map decided to put that in. However, I did not take the time to really remember where I saw that graffiti. So if anyone finds it let me know.
I think it’s a reference to when the bolide was really hard to drive before it’s released --- Post updated --- *remaster
The BeamNG forum emojis are just reskinned "letter" combinations. When you type them out (without the spaces of course), they will turn into these emojis = : ) = ; ) = : ) = : mad : = : confused : = : cool : = : p = : D = : eek : = : oops : = : rolleyes : = o _ O
It's still the most difficult car to control that's supplied in the game imo. But I've learned to control it quite well and enjoy it. In its stock form, it's the car I jump into to calibrate my throttle finger. After driving several laps, any other car after that is a piece of cake. lol
The gameengine·zip file contains mostly normal stuff, but also some things like 'Titillium Semibold' the font of beamng, ready to be installed on your computer. 'fixme_crap.png', lol Spoiler: The Image is big The Icons for the buttons is actually another WebDings-like symbol font called 'Font awesome'. There is also an unused message box popup that contains a 'blub' sound. In /ui/common there is over 100 other fonts you can pick out!
I see this thread has been partially active which pleases me, I have read through the new posts and there is some very nice information here!
It is probably intentionally bad because it is a debug indication of an error. So, if there’s an error in the game which breaks the aesthetics already, why should they have the error graphic look pretty?
I love the idea of this thread, especially the most technical fun facts. I wish I actually had something interesting to share myself. After typing this, I spent way longer than I want to admit looking for something interesting, so here. This is one of the day 1 reviews of BeamNG.Drive on Steam. Also, if someone else wants to complete another cool fact I remembered, there was a video somewhere of BeamNG.Drive being interviewed on a news/TV station and it was mentioned that they had been approached by Hollywood multiple times for use in movies. I believe it was mentioned to be from 2015.
