Why do so many mods come without working gauges, steering wheel & openable doors?

Lately I noticed a few good looking mods I got from here do not come with fully functional interiors or even doors that can be opened. Why is this? Are the developers of these mods just too lazy to enable this or is it really that difficult to implement? Also is there a way I can modify the mod myself to enable it? Just got a really good looking 87 Buick mod but nothing on it works other than you can drive it & the lights turn on.

If you got it from the repository, its because its made in Automation.

Since you mentioned the Buick, is it the one made by Fillman86?

First, as JoshD mentioned, this belongs in 'Troubleshooting, Bugs, Questions, and Mod Support.'

But to answer your question it can be 1 of two things.
    1. You're downloading Automation cars
    2. You're downloading OLD mods that were here BEFORE the openable features were implemented into the base game, and the mods haven't been updated yet or are abandoned/outdated.

Also to call these mod authors "Lazy" when you yourself aren't a mod author is a tad bit rude, Openable doors and such aren't just something you can click "Enable" on and presto everything opens now, you actually have to do a time consuming thing called *Coding* and a lot of the cars from Automation require you to literally export the body/mesh and actually separate the doors from the bodies and so and so forth in a program like Blender, then there's the daunting task of JBeaming EVERYTHING to work properly. SO, i'd refrain from using the term 'lazy' here in this situation.

Yep, mod developers are lazy enough to make only visuals but not things like interior stuff, gauges, openables and so on. It is not so difficult, but just time consuming process. These moments are not necessary to make good looking screenshots. BeamNG have low level of entering into mod developing. But also all added stuff needs to be tested, and thats a lot of time. Overall modding process is not easy at all, you need to know a lot about how the game works and more.
If you like somebody work, but need more features, try to add things by yourself and send your work to mod dev, or make your own mod addon. We all can work on some project together.

Some mod Developers, yes are lazy, but not all of them. There are PLENTY of really talented mod authors here in the forums who have spent MONTHS, even years developing their mods and have come out with some bangers. I find there to be a fine line between the talented mod authors and the lazy ones who pump out rushed mods.

It’s not always laziness, as @Truck-truckin-truck said, these kind of mods are either old, Automation or meshslaps.
