Looking for (a) seasoned modder(s) for help on further development (teaching/tutoring or if that is inconvenient to do collision mesh and suspension work) This car was released by me just before Christmas last year as an Automation mod. You can find reference pictures here to see how far the car has come since then: https://beamng.com/resources/1969-egregore-wildcat-cat-am-restomod.24580/ Now the car has gone through severe blender treatment and instead of being a "2 fixed cars" mod, the entire thing has become modular, between old school vanilla build and restomod/rebuild with some odd options, all should be possible within one car, with a good selection of different engines, interior, body and aero parts (not all of them presented in the following pictures)... and not to forget liveries. I have spent like 2 months now learning a lot about blender and jbeaming to get the car where it is now. But I am stuck and my head is humming from all the new information. I am looking for (a) seasoned modder(s) who would like to get involved to give the car the treatment it deserves (proper collision mesh, suspension, openable doors, proper shifter...). the interior is already functional otherwise (steering, gauges including odometer, pedals, indicator stalk etc.) and the shaker on the bonnet tilts and opens up when giving it the beans. I have seen tutorials on how to make a livery, may run into some issues getting the UV template ready but that's where I probably would go next to progress (I need that screaming kitten hood decal! xD). So if you are a modder and have time on your hands talk to me and we can see what we can achieve together Here are pics! I find it to look glorious, but then I might not be impartial in my judgement xD Disclaimer: There are still automation assets left over on this car, like the wheels (wouldn't ever wanna lose them, they freakin rock, made by Arunaheart) and some stock parts. There is not a single thing, not a single fixture or mesh on this car however that has not been touched up or altered in any way. Update April 30, 2024: - Pictures - Added an i6 engine option (rocking 200 hp in base config) - Added more interior options like sports seats, a cage and more - Started creating liveries - Redid the entire dash from scratch because someone said it looked too modern and they were damn right xD That is not all that happened and more's to come. The last few pics of the drag car are just something i put together in a few minutes and I used the Cat-Am livery because apparently I at some point deleted the firestorm livery lol... damn.
Indeed xD I feel like none of the stock BeamNG muscle cars look really badass front to back (Barstow has a really cool front end though!), so it should definitely go in that direction. Here's a config I made from the parts selector called the "Getaway Special". The description will read: Nobody expected Bonnie and Clyde. These are the vibes I want to go with.
This thing looks awesome. Hope you can find somebody to help with the project or better yet teach you how to do all the things you want to do so that you can continue with mods like these in the future.
Thank you very much! Indeed I want to learn how to do these things. Because up next would be the 2024 Wildcat with more crazy stuff that is already waiting to get realized This is it. It would halso have to get completely redone in blender with probably new headlights and such, but it already exists.
I would love if you were talking about me and not the car here, because then I would be more than just odd xD Thanks for stopping by! --- Post updated --- Initially I thought your footnote "This thread is worse than..." was your reply to this thread and I was a bit confused admittedly, but also understood where you might be coming from for my ineptitude to get this car working properly hahaha I would actually love to add some cyberpunk/futuristic elements to it, like the Wildcat/Cat-Am writing as LED fixtures and whatever anyone might come up with that is more versed in this topic!
Some more period-correct stock parts would be cool. Also, there’s a 1969 Wildcat in real life, and it’s a Buick, so maybe a slightly different name could be nice. These are just suggestions, though.
Feel free to point me to specific things you would like to see and I'll take it into consideration for sure. I already have more things planned like drag racing elements and more modern track racing add-ons which apparently will not satisfy your request. So what were you thinking of? Edit: Also, I have a different wing available as of now that is similar to the 1969 Trans Am and a more covered front and rear fascia.
I've known about this for a while, really impressive stuff. one recommendation though, if it isn't too much to ask. the body of which this is based on in auto is quite bad, resulting in the greenhouse looking really thick and blobby, and overall out of place on the car. I'd recommend adding some sort of trim, or most importantly, making the a pillar narrower and straighter as that's the main issue have with this. Love it otherwise, keep up the good work! Heres an example of how id recommend modifying it, again, I don't know how doable this is at this point, but I think it would drastically increase the overall appearance of the car.
Thank you! Yeah you must have seen my last post on the automation server probably I guess this car no longer has a place there and probably neither will my future builds. I will have to give some thought to your suggestion, a bit dreading what this would entail. I could try pulling up the windshield/window lines a bit, because I feel like the outer line from the side goes really well with the flow of the car. It is overall not as square as other cars from its era. As for the pillar that is also a maybe. Knowing a few more tricks in blender might help that process. I definitely see what you mean by it being unusual for the time. Hey don't crap on the Firebird/Camaro body, even if it's warranted ;-) As soon as Aruna released this I had to build with it, but I've spoken with him recently and there is awareness about certain issues given it's one of his first bodies ever made.
Love the concept, really excited to see if it ends up getting developed more! If you end up getting a UV map set up, let me know, I would absolutely love to make some racing skins for it!!
Oh hell yeah! I just looked at your mod, looks fantastic! Will definitely pick you up on that offer Would you also be interested in making a '77/'78 Pontiac Trans-Am style livery for it? It's a Wildcat instead of a Firebird, so it would be a screaming kitten instead of a screaming chicken. --- Post updated --- Just saw your edit. I do agree a slimmer A pillar would look more fitting on it. I'll see what I can do (means I will chew through concrete xD)
I'm glad you like how my skin pack has turned out! Unfortunately, I'm a much better designer than an illustrator, so if I tried to create a "screaming kitten" version of the Firebird hood illustration on my own, it probably wouldn't look that good.. ;v; HOWEVER, if you get someone else to make that asset, I will gladly put the skin together using it!
I would call that a deal Either I will make it or my Buddy who already redesigned the logos and lion decals for the car. I'll get in touch as soon as this part of the process comes into play!
Thank you --- Post updated --- No. No policeman will get his/her corrupt sticky donut fingers on this vehicle xD
How?! I have never come across this car in my lifetime! Did I change timelines again? Is the devil mocking me until I kill him? xD F it. I am not changing the name.
