awesome refresh, drives and feels like the real thing, Just drove mine ac couple minutes ago. Its a 1992 with the 1.6l, Based on the good ole butt-dyno the only difference I immediately noticed was the torque curve when driving it. First I think 1st gear should probably be lowered a bit by default, and then maybe adjust the torque curves to start going up @ ~2.5-3k RPM until a peak at ~4-5k. Not sure how the real Dyno would reflect that, but my ears and ass say this little engine wakes up at the end of the rev range.
I was wondering, for those working on this mod, would y'all consider adding the ability to smoke the front turn signals? I'm trying to recreate my irl miata 1-1 and that's basically the one thing missing, that and a tall neochrome shifter but that's niche as hell lol
Hey I have a recommendation, I own a 1990 1.6 NA Miata and one thing this mod fails to capture about the Miata is how rev happy the 1.6 is. In the mod the revs are slower then the car itself and completely ruins the fun of the car. One of the main things that I think that makes the Miata a Miata is how quickly it revs up. In first gear the revs should shoot right up instead of what they are doing now. A non rev happy Miata would be an awful car and after driving the real thing coming to this mod its kind of sad to see that part of the Miata not captured.
Oh hey, just found this thread, hope it's still active. I saw you were looking for help with 3d models, I happen to be a professionnal vehicle artist that sucks at coding. Wanna trade ? I have a project of my own that could use some coding help
I'm still alive, i don't mind if anyone wants to help with this mod, just message me if you want to help or have any questions. Discord: .dartie
I'll be working with Dartie to bring the 3D model to higher standards. Don't expect lightning fast progress tho, but I' ll do my best. Have some wips of the front subframe in the meantime :
I needed a break from trying to understand a mesh someone else did, so I started a wide body kit too X_O Also racing hood latches
Hey, just passing by, thank you Huginn and Dart for the work on this mod! I'm not really active on the game or the forum anymore but it's nice to see the spirit of the Miata live on. If you want me to make changes to the main post since it's been a while already, PM and i'll do the necessary. Cheers. --- Post updated --- I don't know if this was changed, but IIRC when i made the torque curves for the engines i based them on real world dyno readings from the 1.6 and 1.8... Now, this was 7 years ago, so i'm not sure if i did it correctly or not, but it should be close. What i did not change at the time (Because i didn't know that much about cars...) was the engine inertia (Flywheel weight). Higher inertia means the engine has more weight to spin around on the crankshaft's end so it revs up slower. It should be most noticeable when depressing the clutch and smashing the gas from idle to redline. Maybe lowering that value in the engine's .jbeam code would help. I wish i still had my wheel so i could drive the car in Beam and get a feel for it... --- Post updated --- This looks awfully cool. Love the attention to detail with the hood latches... You make me regret selling my G29...
