Not necessarily, I've seen a few tri-axle trailers in the US, and there's been other discussion about this in the above posts.
right bois, but say it's an euro trailer, wouldn't be weird to have such thing for an american truck? Do they have american semi trucks in euro market? does it mean we gonna have an european truck in the future?
being that the new truck is most likely a T-series (an American truck), it would be weird to get a euro trailer, so a trailer built for the US would make more sense
Not necessarily. The dry van trailer, flatbed trailer and tanker trailer all have visually dually wheels but actually use single, wide ones:
But did those tri-axles have single wheels? Edit: Seeing @DaddelZeit post, maybe they aren't single wheels in the teaser. They do look quite thicc tbf
Tbh, having a European trailer wouldn't make any sense given the fact that the T-Series is an American truck. Unless, of course, there's a European truck in the works!
Yeah I felt that I see 3 axle intermodal trailers more often than 2 axle ones here in Canada. intermodal transport isn’t too common in general though so never really paid attention to whether the trailers are extendable or not. As for the length of extension, it doesn’t seem to extend 20’, so I think its designed to carry a 40’/2 TEU in the smaller configuration and a North American 53’ intermodal in the extended configuration.
So if we are getting a trailer designed for carrying shipping containers of various lengths then I presume we are getting new shipping containers maybe with different lengths/weights and maybe actual interior stuff like boxes and other cargo
Super singles are becoming more popular in America, so even if it does have single tires it could still be American. And it’ll probably have options to put normal duallies on as well, as the T-series and other trailers will likely have the option of super singles.
Honestly it might be, I just wanna show the difference between duallies and super singles incase anyone isn’t familiar with the terms
I noticed that the duals had a seam down the center of each tire, a telltale sign of injection molding
