Hello there, after years of watching people playing it on youtube I finally got the game a few weeks ago. So of course I started modding and was surprised at the fairly limited number of postapo mods. So, might as well start with something simple, like small details on a car, right ? Right ? Oops I slipped I never even driven the Bluebuck, what am I doing ? Anyways. I present to you the Megaponey ! It's loosely based on the Gigahorse from Fury Road, more than a one to one recreation, I'm aiming for something fitting to the Beam universe, so it's mostly kitbashed from bits of other cars. Two Bluebuck 353 V8 with superchargers and twin turbos (from the Bolide, at 1.5 scale). The front axle from the T-series and some suspension and steering bits from the crawler Hopper (also, look at those weirdass springs, never seen something like this before, but that's how they are on the real one it seems). Same deal for the rear. At the moment the model is 80% done, I need to finish the junction between the two cabs and still have to do most of the interior, then unwrap some UVs and do some texturing. For now, I got most of what I already done to load in the game, still need to figure out a way to edit jbeams with Maya. Or learn yet another 3D software. I feel like the hydraulic steering is gonna be a pain, same if I really want the two engines being two separate entities with working turbos feeding into superchargers. I might have to cheat but eh, the turbos are empty on the real one. I might or might not finish this, we'll see.
Small update : have a steering wheel. Here you can see that there is a reason I'm a vehicle artist and not a character artist
Small update, at least small for you, it took me ages to get there. Behold ! A frame and some bits of rear axle ! And it does axle things too ! Now, to find why I can't add a slot for the shocks, somehow...
Getting there ! (of course those are temp wheels) Sadly progress might be a bit slower since I broke my hand
thanks :> Looks like I can still code, albeit slower. And I have a lot more free time now ! Almost got the front axle together
Some progress, the front axle is kinda done with a somewhat working steering Of course since I hate myself I just couldn't copy what's on the crawler Hopper and had to do my own thing. Why did I pick such a complicated first mod ? Oh well.
Thanks :> What I am not good at, however, is code. Good thing the just remastered the T-series because I was using a fair chunk of that and now it doesn't work anymore T-T Two steps forward one step back... So no update for today, I have to redo a bit of the rear axle and the whole front one. In the meantime, I'll be giving a hand on a Miata mod, only for the 3D part.
