SOLVED Steering wheel not working

Hello there people,

I’ve been extensively using the lightning.zip mod and have encountered a persistent problem. Despite removing every single mod and restarting the game over 1100 times in the span of a week, this issue is still going on. After enough investigation, I have identified the specific file causing it: lightning_steeringwheels.jbeam.



How can I keep both steering wheels, both in the mod and on some specific vehicles similar to it?

Deleting the jbeam file results in the mod losing its steering wheel, while adding it back causes multiple vehicles to either have no steering wheel at all or have it missing, misaligned or faulty inverted. This really affects my overall gaming experience in BeamNG.drive.

And when was the mod last updated?

Ohhhh.
It’s because a lot of the steering wheels have “pickup” in their internal name.
Those same names are used in most Gavril utility vehicles, and are stored in the Common folder. Which explains why it’s breaking stuff for other vehicles.
Change every “pickup_” and the “roamer_” in the names to “lightning_”, then it should be fine.
