    Hi all.
I am unable to search for anything in the parts selector; and I'm using a gamepad and keyboard for typing.
As some members already know, I am visually impaired, so I navigate the UI by committing menus to memory etc.
However every time I press A on the search button and start typing, nothing happens.
I think I'm in the right area because my OCR reads out different suggestions to search for, but either it doesn't work, or it doesn't put me in the box to type.
That being so, I would really appreciate some help from anyone who could look into this for me, and perhaps tell me how to get into the box if that's what's wrong.
I can't use the mouse, so please use button sequences like down 2 right 1 for instructions if that makes sense.
Alternatively, could someone tell me how to make the parts menu UI more simple and/or sort the performance parts from the visual ones?
Currently there is no way I can do this menu independently because firstly it's different for each car; and secondly it's a big menu with the parts all mixed up in no particular order hence why I've asked if there's a way to show the performance parts only.
    Many thanks in advance.

I’m not entirely sure, but I think the game has a feature where your mouse cursor has to be hovering over the textbox to be able to type in it. So it may (if I’m right and there’s no way to change the way it behaves) sadly not be doable with a mouseless setup.

The part/slot system is built in a way where you have a part, and then it can have sub parts which is stuff mounted to the part. So for example, bumper -> license plate.
The engine works in a similar matter looking like this: engine has engine components & the transmission, which has other stuff related to it like a differential.
There’s also an option in the config menu called “Simple Tree”, but that only makes it so only slots that have more options than a single part and “empty” show up, so that’s not very useful. Not sure why does it even exist.

Sorry if I couldn’t help, but that’s all I know about. Maybe someone else with more knowledge could give a better explanation.

Hi, many thanks for your reply.
It makes sense what you are saying regarding the need to hover over the search box, if what you are saying is correct then that is very annoying to say the least.
I also understand about the sub parts etc, I've played Forza and NFS games for a long time and I've gotten used to them games having sub parts like exhaust and NOS being in engine, Brakes and tires in handling etc... It's not the sub parts that is the problem, it's the randomness of how they are included in the selector menu and how very inaccessible it is.
If I may use Forza and NFS as examples again, their menus are the same for every car regardless if parts aren't available etc; and as previously mentioned performance and visuals are separated instead of being in one big list so it is a lot neater.
Does anyone know if the DEV's of the UI are active on this forum? Because I would like to ask if this can be addressed.
Alternatively if someone knew how to mod the UI to make it more usable for me, I'd be more than grateful and obviously make it a paid request :)

Maybe @tdev can help, I think he's involved with UI development.
