Aerodynamically the savings make sense. This relatively little naturally aerodynamic circle, VS a wide and flat-sided lightbar that was used. Also because of its seemingly smaller footprint, it probably weighs less. However, they could have used a teardrop or oval shape for optimal aerodynamics, and have a similar footprint.

It was stated in the video that it improved acceleration and fuel economy, both of these can be put under "Performance". This did not mean that it increased power, it merely "saved" power by reducing the load from drag, and possibly reduced weight.

Also for comparison, I found some pictures of police cars in my general area.

The body style with large rear window is from 1977 to 1979 versions, so it doesn't match the other body styles like wagon and sedan that are 1980 and further. Same differences as for the pre-1980 Delta 88 and Regency that are very different despite being on the same platform.

 

is the oldsfullsize pack being updated/remastered? i'm getting hints here and there throughout this thread but i can't really find a definitive answer

they were talking about that i think it is. its nice to see this mod get more recigniton.

 

I can't get this thing to drive anymore. The front wheels get stuck pointing right and it doesn't do anything. Any idea how I can fix this?

 

Mod is old and currently getting remastered completely - which will take a long time

Maybe clear cache or something?

 

It would be awesome to have openable panels for this mod and the addon pack,even though it may be hard to do this with the addon pack too.

 

This remaster will (I think) bring openable doors to the mod.
