PC Performance Issues

Hey Everyone,

Im experiencing alot of Issues with BeamNG...
Even on Medium Settings im not getting more than 60 FPS and it randomly drops alot. Also when im using AI the Game runs terrible. Somedays i cant even hit 60 FPS and its struggling to stay at 20FPS.
For the Resolution im runing around 2k.
But even when i lower it, the FPS dont go up alot. The GPU and CPU usage randomly spikes up to 100% sometimes even when i do nothing ingame.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5500
GPU AMD Radeon RX 6600
8GB Vram
32GB Ram

 

How are your CPU and GPU temps?

My Temps are around 60°C when playing. They shouldnt get too hot or anything

 

Hmm... have you checked the performance graph? If you press Ctrl + Shift + F, it will open up a graph, and at the top, it will show things like CPU, GPU, GameEngine, etc. If any of them are flashing white, or especially red, that component might be bottlenecking your performance.

 

You can try and launch the game in safe mode, or the Vulkan API. If you still experience performance issues, you can try to reinstall the game. If you experience performance issues even after reinstalling, it's probably not an issue with Beamng.

Sadly i am running into a CPU GameEngine Bottleneck, and also the GPU is flashing Red sometimes. So i think i got to Upgrade my PC at some Point if i wanna keep l playing BeamNG whitout freezing and Lags all the Time.

Even on the Lowest Quality Settings my CPU GameEngine is flashing White/Orange

 

That seems kinda odd. Your system is quite a bit better than mine, yet on medium-low settings, I can almost always get more than 60 fps on any map (West Coast is the worst performance wise). Do you have other programs running in the background, or a lot of startup programs? And do you have any programs that are listed here?

 

AMD graphics cards are a little buggy with Beamng at the moment. But the CPU is the issue. I have an R5 5600X and I have no issues.

Do you have any software like AMD Adrenaline? Or Ryzen Master?

Are you running any AI traffic?

 

Im running AMD Adrenaline. Also tried Ryzen Master but there's no diffrence...
If i spawn traffic the game lags like Crazy

 

If you run an older version of the game does it still lag?

 

Nothing running in the Background and dont have any of the Listed Programs

 

I actually just ran into a similar issue, I'm going to investigate further and try to find a solution. For now here's a video of what happened. If I pause the game or get out of my car, my fps goes to 60-144
When un-paused I get 3.6 fps. 5.4 fps max. CPU and GameEngine bottleneck. CPU usage in task manager was oddly 3%. When I pause the game it goes to 30%.

All maps have this issue.

Running it in safe mode works just fine for me. I deleted all mods and I ran Beamng like normal, and I am still having an issue. Older versions run just fine.

(SOLUTION) I ran the 0.14 DX10 version of the game, then I relaunched the newest version and it just worked. (I did not reinstall the game.)

 

how do i find the dx10 version to launch as ive got quite similar specs and the exact same issue, is it one of the the betas in steam or something?

 

It's in the "Betas" menu in Steam.

I've never had that happen to me before. Try restarting the update?

 

well i managed to get it to launch by just running the exe and not using steam but i dont think thats meant to happen

 

I had that happen once, it should just go away after a couple of seconds.

 

left it on for a few minutes didnt change at all

 

I also play with AMD but with a RX570 (I think) I get a consistent 40+ FPS on WCUSA.
