hi i need some help on creating a 1995 holden commodore because idk how to mod and the guide I'm following doesn't get through my head
Ok, I'm here. What I would recommend you is the following: 1: Start with a skin mod to get familiar with basic folder structures. 2: Make a license plate mod to get familiar with coding and troubleshooting in BeamNG. 3: Make a custom vehicle part to get familiar with 3D-modelling and using 3D models in-game. 4: Modify an existing map (or start one from scratch if you REALLY want to) to get more familiar with Lua and in-game tools. 5: Slowly start making an own vehicle based off a vehicle already in the game. Creating an entire new vehicle mod for BeamNG is a long and hard progress, especially if you don't have any major experience in modding, so to avoid frustration and demotivation, I recommend starting with easier things to learn the BeamNG modding basics.
As mentioned, it is more work to build a custom mod than I think anyone would ever expect, but it is do-able if you want to take the time to learn. Designing cars has been an interest of mine since I was a kid, and with my basic level (one class in how to code in Java and one 3D modelling class 21 years ago), I eventually got good at creating content for BeamNG. Starting small and learning how things work, as recommended above, is the best way to do it. A Holden Commodore is similar to the in-game Bastion, so after learning how to modify things in the game, you could probably start to adapt the Bastion to be like a Commedore in many ways.
Maybe you can try making a car through Automation? While they may look and crash a bit weird in BeamNG, it could be a good starting point. If you want to make it even better you can edit it with file editing to add stuff like configs and proper information.
