Screenshot2024-02-08183756.png I downloaded this free Cybertruck model online and really want to make it into a quality mod. Unfortunately, I know nothing about how to make mods, I also barely know how to use blender. Any tips?

I do not think having almost 200,000 vertices is normal. But I have no clue about the rest.

200k verts is actually on the lower side. You're sure that you want to start your modding career with a full car?

Starting it with a full car would be fun, I am fine with spending months on it if i have to. But in reality i have no clue what im getting in to.

you'll need to separate the model down into its individual components, possibly have to model an interior, and make the wheels work with the universal wheels system

For a start I recommend splitting the vehicle into its different components (as Alex said) and naming them properly. For blender, if you are an absolute newbie I recommend this tutorial. I also recommend looking at some official BeamNG vehicles for parts naming and 3d model inspiration and guiding. You can (usually) find vehicle files under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles (Steam only). I recommend taking something with few changeable parts as that's more overseeable.
