Ok, as much as how cool it looks with post-rain roads, people will start complaining over loss of traction on wet surfaces. If you could be able to add the environmental system from Tokyo's Shuto Expressway to here, that would make things better. But right now, people are going to bitch out.
Could you try to start the map and then close the game and attach the beamng.log in your post? Yes, it's to make the map closer to the original. Wetness is very faint to make it still somewhat easy to drive. Fixed the link, my bad. No, it's not. Asphalt should appear wet but friction itself is very similar to an "Old Asphalt" in game. I'm considering adding that when I'll add dynamic weather. We will see how doable is that. Right now it's inbetween of normal wet asphalt and regular asphalt. I personally had no issues with driving there with vanilla and some mod cars. And yes I tested that both on the keyboard, gamepad and steering wheel. As mentioned above it's basically an old asphalt groundmodel with a wet appearance.
I love this port! Good job implementing OST, crash camera and gas stations Besides what's being said above, the only issues I had was performance (but that's understandable with a detailed map like this) and that some objects, like a few types of signs looked weird because of the way normal maps got applied. Otherwise, I love this!
I apologise if this is a silly question, but how do you add the OST pack to the game? I assume you just drop it into the mods folder as with everything else? Amazing mod, by the way, can't wait to try it out when it finishes downloading!
Yes, just put the zip file into the mods folder & it should work. The map itself looks amazing & it's pretty well detailed.
Map works in BeamMP with no additional issues, other than just being a lil resource intensive but that's hardly surprising given the huge size of the map lol. Only real complaint I have is that there's a lot of weird hard edges on some parts of the map that instantly deflate tyres if you drive across them at an oblique angle (which I suspect is an artifact of the original level geometry that Beam.NG is exposing). Also some of the roads seem weirdly un-smooth, the suspension seems to be working pretty hard on what should be mostly smooth roads. Very excited to see how this mod develops.
First of all, great mod! The integrated radio surely is a nice bonus, and the road traction seems fine by me (definitely not as slippery as the skidpad in ETK driving centre) I did notice some serious lag spikes though, mainly when running through the speed traps. So just before the speed trap shows my speed, there tends to be a big frames drop before going back to normal again. I also noticed some big lag spikes driving around downtown. Interestingly this is more of an issue during daytime, nighttime is a lot smoother? I understand this is an early beta though, so it's probably not the most optimized yet. FYI I have an i7-13980H and a RTX 4070 (8gb gddr6) with 32gb of ram.
Holy shit, what a great map, I can't explain how good this map is, especially with irl car mods! Keep producing home runs!!!
Hey CK, update. I had to uninstall my game and reinstall beamng and it fixed the map, thank you for replying though - This map is great. When do you plan to complete the rest of the map? - We are very happy to see you released it quite early lol
carkiller can i release some music add-ons here on the forums and make a thread that i can update every once in a while with new music for now i made 2 packs one with all OSTs of asphalt 8 and one with all OSTs of real racing 3 --- Post updated --- might do gran turismo 4 osts next
Yes sure you can as long it works. I don't mind, it's fully moddable Glad to hear it works. I don't have any clear ETA for finishing the map completely, it's a very complex task, that's why I wanted to release it as a beta first so it's not getting dusty on my hard drive. I plan on polishing custom features and porting races from MW 12, improving traffic, etc when I have time.
Okay so Microsoft 365 is just a software that puts all of your Microsoft products in one place. Excel, Outlook, Office, Teams, Edge, OneDrive, all that stuff. It's not an operating system. And, as for the Windows 11 pro thing, yea, I mean, as long as BeamNG runs on whatever OS you're using, the map should function just fine as it likely isn't dependent on the OS you're running. Also, Windows 11 is just a reskinned Windows 10, so even then it would still run regardless. The way you worded that was just really weird, I've never seen anyone refer to a PC as a "stock" pc. Most of us here are running Windows, like probably 95% of the Beam forum users are, and just a handful are running Linux and MacOS. So by your logic we're all using stock PCs for the most part.
so far from what i can see i cant seem to get it to work properly. is there a custom directory to put in instead of the usual "levels/fairhaven/info.json"?
