Wonderful mod. Can’t wait to see it in its final iteration! Some feedback that I think would help: A lot of the off road terrain kinda sucks with it’s collision (just a result of weird collision with some of the props) so I would either disable collision or add wedges to help cars get over them. (See the construction zone on I-92 east, not Mclane, and the train tracks) Single light poles still have collisions when the double light poles don’t and they are a pain to get around on 2 lane roads. Strange bump in the road on Route 32 off the beltway under the train tracks. Idk why it’s there. Some terrain clipping through the roads (probably working on it) Terrain not being culled when in the I-92 tunnel right below Route 1 when the tunnel opens up. Curbs are super annoying. Probably a product of porting or something. Don’t take this as a negative review, this map is awesome. These are just some things that I would want to see improvements on. Keep up the work!
I've been having a good laugh just driving around and reading all the billboards. Great job on this map!
The best transferred map, but what about the road? Why is it so slippery? Is it possible to disable it?
No. Fly overs of the map continue behind the big black box. I tried many keystrokes and nothing changes. Fortunately, the esc key allows me to see the red quit tab in lower right so I dont have force quit.
Resize the game window to 16:9 format and close the popup. Next time it will be skipped. I will try to fix how UI behaves on weird aspect ratios and resolutions in the next version. Currently UI scales accordingly to width of your resolution assuming your screen is 16:9. As you can see it was a bad idea Its not slippery... I'm aware of the issues. I fixed the worst issues we had in map. However as you can see many of them left. I'm using collision meshes directly from Need for Speed, so fixing that takes some time. It seems I forgot to enable collisions for some props. Ideally, they should be physical so you can destroy them just like in Need for Speed. I'm looking into it. There will be a lot of issues like that, the way these games are made, makes porting super hard to do. There are tons of variants of every spot on map that are not compatible with each other at all. The current version is mostly cleaned up but now it requires manual meshes editing to make it fit with each track unit. I did not want to hold the map on my drive for months or a year, so right now it's available as Beta because of the issues you mentioned.
In your opinion, of course. If you want it to be less slippery, make it less slippery. If you want to keep it as is, keep it then. I don’t get how this is an argument that is continuing to show up.
How the heck it's slippery if it's using dry asphalt values If you can't drive on anything else than perfect asphalt, then that's not a mod issue at all. I believe if the map used "dry look" and effects on the road you wouldn't even notice that it's changed.
Considering I'm not the only one who's said something about it I'd say otherwise. I'm not really sure why so many people are getting so butt-hurt over this, it's not even that big of a deal. Seems to me that some people just need to grow up.
I've been spinning my car driving at the posted speed limits, I tried JoshD's fix and haven't had a crash since. Same car, same setup, same driving style, the only change being the no-slip fix.
It is an amazing mod, and I did not even know that map mods could be this high quality. It reminded me of the countless hours I played most wanted (2012) on my ps3 for. But, why is the road wet tho, even tho the textures are showing that it is dry. And I think that there are bumps in some areas of the road which coupled with the wet tyre animation thing make it seem like the road is slippery
Its supposed to be normal asphalt, the wet textures in the road and small bumps (In my opinion) make it feel slippery
