I really should stay away from this one but I am Aussie, stubborn and tired so here goes....... Why do people not understand that the Ute is a very practical vehicle and has been used by anyone from farmers to florists to do all manner of tasks for 70 years. Not every job requires 6 tons of towing and a "truck" longer than the titanic. A Ute is more fun to drive than the average the "pick up", easier to park, far better looking than the square box pickup trucks(all of them from the last 50 years) and a hell of a lot faster. If you don't agree then its a good thing you aren't a True Blue Aussie. Aussie's don't feel the need to get a big truck to compensate for smaller things. I am not saying the pickup truck's don't serve a purpose but if Ford and Chevrolet kept the Ranchero and El camino Alive then the best selling vehicle probably wouldn't be a f-150 year in year out. Also I believe many pickup's wouldn't exist today without ford(aus) making that first Ute. And if you don't agree with what I have said that is your right and I respect that just don't tell me about it, I love my country and a lot of its inventions to damn much.
Pickup truck are not useless, so by Denis's logic a Ute isnt useless Dem contradictions Sent from the 3rd galaxy via the talks of tapping
Hasn't had my respect since I first spoke to him on IRC, just has no morals whatsoever. Close enough?
I know a guy that moved house with nothing but a Felicia pickup and a ford focus, took a few trips but would for an f150 or something too. Taking the Felicia pickup which was never actually sold in the US, what isn't there to love? 2 seats, same restriction applies to many pickups to be fair. Big enough cargo bed for most needs (attach trailer if you must). Full independent suspension with the entire front end of the vehicle ripped from the stock Felicia hatchback, it drives just the same as the hatchback and isn't a behemoth of a vehicle so its nice and easy to park. A practical vehicle. I think that goes for all utes really. How often do the big pickup trucks truly offroad? Almost never, yet on road, they are no better than the ute. A construction site doesn't count considering front drive cars can usually cross them without issue, hell, construction site is a ford transits natural habitat and it isn't a big off road truck, some transits are even front wheel drive (noticed only rwd is offered in the US, get front, rear and all in the UK unless you have a duallie axle in which case rear only, get less engine options too I think).
Precisely. A blade of grass being in the way does not require a pickup truck to conquer. I've made my corsa nice and muddy even and its a shitty fwd hatchback.
Its a front end conversion, like when they put Monaro front ends on utes, wagons & sedans. See more examples:
That Fairmont just looks amazing, what a beautiful car. Slow down when approaching intersections, we don't want another pregger running the red and killing another BA - - - Updated - - - I watched the televised funeral of Phillip Hughes, very sad. Such a loss for Australia. Too keep this on topic, the procession was his hearse & the two cars with his family. All were Holdens. Holden VZ Hearse & 2 Holden WM Statesmans
Not many people know this but before this Auto industry collapse happened HSV had started up plans to build a supercar. The HSV W200h, its sad to think such an amazing thing has been stolen from the world.
If they had, there would have likely been 2 vauxhalls which arent absolutely terrible rather than just the 1.
Do you even know what HSV is? Australian muscle car company run by Holden, They haven't been around very long either. There is so much wrong with your post.
