Of course they are just temporary, the configs change every day as I add and change things, so I don't bother making good thumbnails until everything will be final
Started a bit of work on the coupe, mostly just separating and rejoining model parts to have less duplicates and at the same time more variety, no Jbeam progress on it yet aside from the slots. The front and rear end are shared with the sedan so they are already there. Also, this much of the Caprice works currently, as all of these parts are shared with or can be equipped on the Custom Cruiser lol
I love how you are making look really good. Is there going to be custom engines like engine swaps for possible drag cars?
No more than the swaps that were already there. Because with the whole selection of factory engines added, V6 and V8, there's just a lot of engines in total and it would be messy to add more. But the pre-1980 factory 403 CUI V8 is also there and can be used on dragsters. There's also nitrous now so you can get more power, and generally the engines have a lot of tuning options.
When this is eventually done, you should change the names to a beam brand then push it towards the dev team to actually implement it into the main game this has been a loving passion project for you, it deserves to be made official once it reaches that state, its wishful thinking i know but it's an iconic mod and deserves that without a doubt!
I already said before, it would be literally illegal due to copyright to add the work of so many other people to the main game and make money off it
Delta 88 Coupe done, only configs left. Here in the Holiday 88 Coupe configuration. New hubcaps, these were stock for the Holiday Coupe while the ones we have in the mod currently were optional. Other new parts I added are frameless door windows (same ones as on the Regency convertible, except not retracable) and a full vinyl roof option rather than just the factory landau top.
can you add an air suspension so some configs can easily roll over after getting pitted or losing control? just a suggestion.
There's hydraulic suspension and air will also be a thing for the Caprice wagon as it was an option for it irl.
wow, thats crazy and pretty dangerous if anyone had a caprice wagon irl and would lose control of it like there is no saving it to over correct it but just to roll over is kinda scary aswell.
They were not "banned" by anyone, the rear suspension was redesigned fairly quickly to fix that specific issue...which only became one when ppl found the platform "sporty" and started putting much heavier and more powerful engines in it. The original car with it's econo-engine, wasn't exactly a powerslider. Even Ralph Nader had to admit later that his mention of the Corvair was more of a hit job than a realistic take, as GM had already corrected the issue when his book came out. (BTW, the same issue persisted for a long time on the first series of Beetles and (gasp!) on the original Mercedes SL....)
Did they get it irl? It is already there for the restomod variants, I have no idea if it was a factory thing for them, it only became mandatory in like 2012 and the GM B-body platform as represented in this mod only lasted until 1990
