【Exhaust sound】NISSAN SILVIA S13 Q's CA18DE【Normal muffler version】 (youtube.com) Is BeamNG Getting an Audio Update? - YouTube SR20De sound stock exhaust (youtube.com) Wild speculation but maybe ca18 or sr20??
They had said the UTV, which is the aurata, and the piano, the LaMusica. Nobody ever said the sbr4 or sunburst. Unless it’s something I’m missing :/
When he said "we only have two cars", he was obviously reffering about the SBR4 and Sunburst, the piano is not a vehicle and very few people consider UTVs as non-normal vehicles.
I just noticed something: the car seems to have a red rear reflector/marker light. The OG Skyline (which some of us, me included, hoped this teased car be like) never had such reflectors/lights because it was never intended to meet the US requirements and specifications anyway. Which means that this is a USDM version of the 200BX, so we're definitely talking about a 200BX remastering here. And it has yellow indicators at the taillights too, which is good!
I have an aligned pic of one of the bx’s mods and it looks strikingly similar. On my home PC for a vid so I don’t have the ability to post it. But after seeing it I’m convinced it’s what we’re looking at. Really hope the pop-ups are kept as an option But psyched to see it being polished nonetheless!
I mean, I know, right? The 200BX is a cheap car for the masses, so it would make perfect sense to meet the requirements and regulations of multiple parts of the world for being profitable. Regardless, I hope the pop-ups are retained too because, even though the non-pop-ups could be a bit slimmer and more elegant (like those on the S13 Silvia), the interchangeability of the front fascias and sheet metal parts is amongst the beauties of this platform. You can make a Notchback with pop-ups (like the US-Spec Notchback 240SX) and a Fastback/Hatchback with non-pop-ups (like the Sileighty) and vice versa! I also hope the characteristic molded-foam seats and the Type-L wheels (the ones with the multiple round holes with teardrop inserts) are retained too! Waiting for your newest vid!
They certainly are WIP, since the remastered version isn't out yet. But, as toyota.potato said, adding both JDM and USDM variants, like with the Covet, wouldn't be surprising at all. My only gripe is about not adding EUDM variants to the Covet. It's a simple parts bin job after all, combining both JDM parts (gauge cluster in km/h, indicators on the front fenders and head-/taillights without the USDM marker lights) and USDM parts (LHD dashboard), with the only exception, admittedly, being the rear bumpers that have to have a wider license plate insert.
I hope we get the sunburst remaster at last after this, and I speculate it will finally be tied into a rebrand of hirochi's overall brand image of using boxer engines. The sunburst feels a bit generic without a flat 4, and they could just borrow the one off of the SBR4. However, then what differenciates the SBR4 and the Sunburst enough from each other? Both will be offered with turbochargers and all wheel drive. I really wonder what the team is going to do to tackle an SBR4 remaster in the future not that it especially needs it over some of the other vehicles. Maybe the SBR4 will be remodelled to match a shootingbrake a little more, with a longer roofline. Or maybe they'll lean more into making it a japanese 911 of sorts and redimension the body accordingly for a facelift? I dunno, rambling.
I absolutely agree with you on this one. The Sunburst should definitely be remodeled into fitting Flat/Boxer engines because, after all, we have never had a front-engined FWD/FWD-based AWD Boxer-powered vehicle in the sim and we already have plenty of transverse I4-powered FWD/FWD-based AWD cars (9 with the existing Sunburst, if I count them properly). As for differentiating the SBR4 and the new Sunburst, the SBR4 has twin turbos, each one of them mounted on each side of the rear crumple zone, so the Sunburst could have one turbocharger mounted on the top of the engine, with the intercooler right above it (Boxers are quite low on height and the existing Sunburst already has a hood scoop after all, so it would make perfect sense). As for the proportions of the SBR4's body, I don't think it needs any tweaks, it's fine as it is. It already is mentioned as a Shooting Brake, after all! As for the overall rebranding of Hirochi as the Boxer brand of the BeamNG lore, I wish all the best for it! It's time we had a Boxer brand, with the obvious exception of the Aurata of course!
Honestly the SBR remaster is something I'm really looking forward to. Not necessarily because the car itself needs it as bad as certain other vehicles, but it's just a nice platform and a really pleasant respectable sports car. The existing top spec trims are competing with cars like mid spec Caymans and mildly depreciated 4.2L R8's, while the lower trims are comfortable entry level sports cars. I don't think it really needs that much to differentiate it from a boxer Sunburst, after all we are talking about a dedicated 2+2 performance platform with the engine on the opposite side of the car. Personally as far as content goes I'd like the team to clean up the trim levels/give it an ICE facelift with the same model years as the electric version, and add some motorsport configs and a speedster body style. I don't think the team necessarily needs to make major aesthetic changes, the changes it got a few years ago did a lot for it.
