I think that the game should have an option to switch ABS on/off. Sometimes it's just irritating having this thing always on, because I use a controller and I like to actually control the car without assistances to test my skills...

If I recall, only the hirochi sunburst, gavril grand marshal and gavril d series actually have ABS?

Would be good to be able to disable it. Although replacement parts for the parts selector can do it too.

I've never heard of a car in real life where you can turn ABS off. You can always turn it off by editing the vehicle file (look for "enableABS" in the suspension .jbeams and change "true" to "false"). I know everyone is used to the typical racing sim where you can turn off every single driving aid on a stock production car and use a manual shifter and clutch on an automatic transmission, but we're trying to accurately represent the vehicles in the game, including how they're controlled and how their systems work. You can still mod anything to your liking - all the physical definitions for the cars are plain text .jbeam files.

technically, you can (take out the fuse that the ABS system is plugged into)

Right, which is modifying the car, not pressing a button. Which you can already do by editing the .jbeams.

Modding a car irl == Modding a jbeam in BeamNG... That comparison is excellent!

I can't count how many times I've thought that when I'm playing this game.
"I wanna turn abs off. I'll just pull the fuze. Oh wait. Shit."
One time I dug through files trying to find the abs code.
    Couldn't find it anywhere. :\
Now that I know where it is I'd like to disable it sometime. I really wanna see how easy it is to get the d15 to spin around under heavy braking.

Yeah switches for the don't exist but unplugging the controller does!

Also, it's almost as easy to turn off abs in the JBEAMs as it is to add it.,.

The D-15 only has rear ABS so, "pickup_suspension_R" then look for "pickup_brake_R" then change {"enableABS":true} to {"enableABS":false}.

Atleast all the Audis of 80s and 90s I've ever been into have ABS off switch like THIS. Think Audi and Mercedes started dropping that switch from their cars in late 90s and early 2000s. Most modern cars you can't even turn the ESP completely off :(

You want ABS trust me, IRL not having it is dangerous, especially when someone pulls out in front of you. I got so lucky driving my friends 'racekor'

Oh yeah, of course. ABS is one of the few things that I like about all the electronics in cars nowadays.
Of course it's nice to know how to disable it for a little bit of fun.

Dude, in BeamNG you can remove the Fuel tank and the car still works... I think disabling ABS through the customization menu wouldn't be so unrealistic :D

Anyway, thanks for the jbeam tip :D

The cars have a fuel tank of 100 litres defined by default. The fuel tank simply overrides that. Could be changed of course, but you'll get somebody that has removed the tanks and will complain the car doesn't work.

Because it hasn't been scripted in yet. It's been said there will eventually be a realistic fluid system where if u bust open your gas tank Itll leak out
