So I know the stupid VY Node not found error happens to most of us at some point. This time it seems to be different. I've looked through multiple threads on this issue, but none of them seem to be on a non-stationary part for 1 and for 2 they all actually have jbeams. My issue is the wheel hub itself doesn't actually have a jbeam, at least not one that shows in game debug. Due to the fact that the mesh wont spawn for the wheel hub because of the VY error, the wheel also will not spawn on the front of the vehicle. In this image, the wheel hub is selected to be on the vehicle and so is a wheel, in the vehicle editor. As you can see, neither have spawned: Here's the console, you can see neither the brake_hub_max or brake_hub_51 want to spawn due to the VY issue. I will also comment that both the front and back use the same hub, only the front is having an issue. I've been working at trying to fix it for... going on 5 hours and i'm quite unenthused by the issue. Thanks!
Look at vanilla cars for reference, you might want to add another group to the hub so they have more nodes to position itself on
I have been trying. I've changed everything I can think of in some way, I've modified the x, y, z location of the part. I've tried adding more nodes in blender to the hub. I've tried replacing the x, y, z from the front with the back to see if it'll spawn in the rear like the rear wheels do. I can't seem to find a jbeam that actually attaches the hub in any way to modify. I'm just out of ideas and bummed. I've even tried referencing jbeams off the pessimal because that's what the front suspension is borrowed from for now with slight modification to make it fit correctly. I did notice that the sway bar bushing mounts on the front are also having the xy issues but I was putting that on the less important list.
What exactly were the "slight modifications" you did? Either something there caused it, or some part is missing. It appears that you either don't have wheeldata or you put the slot for it in a wrong place.
That might actually be the problem, I renamed the wheeldata as a precautionary and didn't realize it could cause issues. the problem now is I don't know what jbeam its in other then the suspension jbeam so i can rename it both ways. { "max_suspension_F": { "information":{ "authors":"CM213/LW", "name":"Independent Front Suspension", "value":400, }, "slotType" : "max_suspension_F", "slots": [ ["type", "default", "description"], ["max_skidplate","", "Skidplate"], ["max_hub_F","max_hub_F_5", "Front Hubs"], ["max_wheeldata_F","max_wheeldata_F", "Front Spindles", {"coreSlot":true}], ["max_strut_F","max_strut_F", "Front Struts"], ["max_swaybar_F","max_swaybar_F", "Front Sway Bar"], ["max_steering","max_steering", "Steering"], ], "flexbodies": [ ["mesh", "[group]:", "nonFlexMaterials"], //front running gear ["max_subframe_F", ["max_subframe_F"]], ["max_lowerarm_FR", ["max_lowerarm_F"]], ["max_lowerarm_FL", ["max_lowerarm_F"]], ["max_hub_FR", ["max_hub_F","max_shockbottom_F"]], ["max_hub_FL", ["max_hub_F","max_shockbottom_F"]], ], --------------------------------------------------------seperation------------------------------------- }, "max_wheeldata_F": { "information":{ "authors":"CM213/LW", "name":"Front Spindles", "value":0, }, "slotType" : "max_wheeldata_F", "pressureWheels": [ ["name","hubGroup","group","node1:","node2:","nodeS","nodeArm:","wheelDir"], //front {"selfCollision":false}, {"collision":true}, {"hubcapBreakGroup":"hubcap_FR"}, {"hubcapGroup":"hubcap_FR"}, {"axleBeams":["axle_FR"]}, ["FR", "wheel_FR", "tire_FR", "fw1rr", "fw1r", 9999, "fh5r", 1, {"torqueCoupling:":"fh1r", "torqueArm:":"fh4r","torqueArm2:":"fh3r","torqueJointNode1:":"tra1r","torqueJointNode2:":"tra1l","steerAxisUp:":"fs1r","steerAxisDown:":"fh1r"}], {"hubcapBreakGroup":"hubcap_FL"}, {"hubcapGroup":"hubcap_FL"}, {"axleBeams":["axle_FL"]}, ["FL", "wheel_FL", "tire_FL", "fw1ll", "fw1l", 9999, "fh5l", -1, {"torqueCoupling:":"fh1l", "torqueArm:":"fh4l","torqueArm2:":"fh3l","torqueJointNode1:":"tra1l","torqueJointNode2:":"tra1r","steerAxisUp:":"fs1l","steerAxisDown:":"fh1l"}], {"selfCollision":true}, {"axleBeams":[]},{"disableMeshBreaking":false,"disableTriangleBreaking":false}, {"hubcapBreakGroup":""}, {"hubcapGroup":""}, {"enableHubcaps":false}, {"enableTireLbeams":false}, {"enableTireSideReinfBeams":false}, {"enableTireReinfBeams":false}, {"enableTreadReinfBeams":false}, {"enableTirePeripheryReinfBeams":false}, {"loadSensitivitySlope":""}, {"noLoadCoef":""}, {"fullLoadCoef":""}, {"frictionCoef":""}, {"slidingFrictionCoef":""}, {"softnessCoef":0.5}, {"treadCoef":1.0}, ], "powertrain" : [ ["type", "name", "inputName", "inputIndex"], ["shaft", "spindleFL", "wheelaxleFL", 1, {"connectedWheel":"FL", "breakTriggerBeam":"axle_FL", "uiName":"Front Left Axle", "friction":1.15, "dynamicFriction":0.0022}], ["shaft", "spindleFR", "wheelaxleFR", 1, {"connectedWheel":"FR", "breakTriggerBeam":"axle_FR", "uiName":"Front Right Axle", "friction":1.15, "dynamicFriction":0.0022}], ], },
Nope. the only thing that will spawn is the brake caliper. no disc, no wheel hub, and no wheel. all of the get the xy node error.
Do you have an engine and transmission in the vehicle? I know sometimes things can break when you don't have them
No, I have them in blender. I just need to import it over. I'll do that in a bit and get back to you. --- Post updated --- okay that did the trick but now I can't remove the engine to make the chassis a roller without the wheels dissapearing... also the engine isnt turning the fronts, everything is there but no turn. --- Post updated --- Man the front is tough, nothing but issues. they show up which is great. but. steer too far, break off. go over a 16" wheel, break off. track width too low, break off. and the caliper is spinning with the wheel.... frustrated.
Seems like you messed up some suspension geometry with your edits, you need to somehow investigate what exactly you did wrong and correct it
even after completely resetting the suspension jbeam, its still messing up. It seems like its binding, almost as if the wheels are clipping something I cant see... when i turn hard, the front end goes down and the outer tie rod snaps like its binding. Could the tire jbeam colliding with the body jbeam cause this? edit: well scratch that because with editing it doesnt fix it plus the pessima clips worse then this and it works wonderfully... back to head scratching
I really cant figure this out. I've tried many things to no avail. I tried shrinking the jbeam of the suspension which just messed up the camber. I've tried modifying values from the steering box, steering limit, and wheel anticlip. I tried borrowing the jbeam with no modifications off the pessima to no avail. I don't know. It's got to be something clipping. If I equip larger wheels above 16" they just rapidly shake or immediately break off. no matter the size of the wheel though, i can't turn pass 1/3 of the way without the front end of the car lowering down (wheels also start violently shaking) and I can't turn pass 2/3 without the outer tie rod just snapping off. if you're interested, I attatched the jbeam. also heres a video if its helpful: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z1ZlK_aiVtBpU6m0LqEAS-zqCBtaGMan/view?usp=sharing
