There's no way that a 1 cubic meter bush (or smaller) could cause a 1-ton (or heavier) vehicle speeding at, let's say, 60mph, spin out like it hit a spike strip, or even worse, roll/tumble out of control. Bushes aren't rooted in concrete, and are most commonly found in the DESERT areas, thus, rooted in LOOSE SAND. They also aren't made of ADAMANTIUM. 7+ years later and ZERO indication of them even READING the original post (...threads/nerf-soft-bushes.27431/) let alone being aware of the notion. Still waiting for that "realism" BeamNG promised to deliver with what I dubbed "Rubber Cars" NG. You promised realism. We're still waiting. --- Post updated ---
This is so true, why are the bushes the biggest threat when doing a desert rally for example. You could hit a bush and it'll literally remove a wheel and turn my car into a trike
While I do understand where you are coming from, I do agree that they are quite annoying, the devs didn't want to have bushes without collision. They could maybe use the physics from the tire bundles at the race tracks or remove collision entirely. However, angry wording is not going to help your cause. Also, the gif you attached has zero purpose as it was not even caused by a bush, and instead the car compactor prop.
My wording is my own choice. I didn't post this for your validation, and couldn't care less what you think.
I hope there's a disable bush physics option. sometimes bushes can be quite unnerving for example if you drive the Roamer right above one of them on Utah, it destroys your windows from inside out, reminds me of Alien Chestburster.....
Hello, Please remember to be respectful when replying to others. Everyone is bound to express their opinions and feelings, but not like that. https://beamng.com/game/support/policies/forum-rules/ Current bushes are a compromise between having collisions or none. Older players will remember that in the past bushes were solid objects, and even a tiny one would be able to completely halt a vehicle. Rather than having no collisions, years ago we experimented using a similar collision model like we use for surfaces like Sand, Mud, etc. The issue there is that the physics engine has no context whether you are on the edge of the collision box or in the inner part, so it applies the same kind of properties everywhere. That's why your vehicle may get "flinged" to a side even if you slightly touch a bush. I would not exclude improvements for those in the future, but right now we have higher priority things on our list
I completly disagree. I do think its a little to strong, but not overly. Maybe just get better at driving kid.
