What would be the "official" color of Scintilla or Civetta?

probably red, since it's Italy's national colour in motorsport (back when that was a thing).

I'd say it's the reddish orange as seen on the five spoke wheels.

I have to say I love the handling of the Scintilla. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a new laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, AMD Radeon GPU, 16GB RAM and I play with the keyboard plus no over-/understeer reduction and transmission assistants whatsoever) and decided to test if the Italy map plays. And it does and fairly well at that (knock on wood). I then decided to take the GT Spyder version (610hp/550Nm, RWD, adaptive suspension, SportPlus 2R tires) for a spin on the mountain roads above the Città Vecchia and, my goodness, I was amazed at how well behaved and obedient the car is. I especially found the DSEs to have a truly supportive role instead of a limiting one. Especially the TC, which doesn't cut engine power in an abrupt manner when exiting a corner. Of course, I had the ESC on "Strada" mode because we're talking about a classic mountain road, with limited width and bumps, potholes, dirt and weeds lying around, ready to kill your road holding, so a slightly raised up soft suspension is the better choice, especially when you've got no AWD, but, even on "Strada" mode, which is supposedly the strictest drivemode, the car was literally flying on that ribbon of asphalt. It has some understeer but it's 100% natural for a road car. Even the standard steel brakes didn't get tired after the numerous braking zones and - very discreet, indeed - DSE interventions. I had such a great time that I didn't even realize I had arrived on the dam! ;)
At first, I didn't really understand why this car has open diffs but I finally got there: the DSEs are really smartly programmed through the differentials and the brakes! All hail the BeamNG devs and test drivers! ;)

I cant seem to find any patchnotes of this being fixed ever since the scintilla came out
was this ever changed internally or was it just left out?

Well yes it is reflecting light, but having a blinding white light in your vision isn't exactly the height of safety

It's a custom job with a cut up Scintilla chassis and a pickup truck engine, in-universe probably hacked together by a cartuber for views. Safety likely wasn't much of a priority

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I was thinking, you know how car companies often use their company colours in their factory racing liveries? Well, if we look at the Civetta Bolide 320 GTR Group 5 Race Car '84 (noice Gran Turismo reference again lul) and the Civetta Scintilla's Track config, we can observe that both of their liveries have the same default colour scheme:

A greenish-blue hue as the primary colour, accompanied by a metallic orange as the secondary, named in the Scintilla's colour selector as Azzurro and Arancio Metallizzato, respectively.

    Coincidence? I think not.

This leads me to conclude that Civetta's factory racing, and therefore official company, colours are in fact - based on in-game scientific observations - actually a turquoise-ish green blue known as Azzurro, and a shiny metallic orange colour known as Arancio Metallizzato. Case closed!
