BeamNG's Crushing Image Problem

Apparently, BeamNG.Drive has a problem related to most people thinking it's just a crashing simulator, which pushes away the simracers, rally drivers, drifters etc.

He talks about there being too many of these videos:

And brain-rotting shorts content.


The reason why these are popular is because of kids.


His proposed solution at the end of the video:

The difference between him and beamNG shorts is that he makes the game look good and appealing to play, which interests kids into the game, and they’ll grow up and be appart of the community, sorta like my story, but with insanegaz

 

lmao no it wouldn't do anything, kids were playing Mortal Kombat in the 90's, hell even FlatOut and GTA have the drivers thrown out in crashes, if anything it'll make it more appealing to kids. BeamNG being used in this kind of content is inevitable, the only real solution is to make the "serious" content you want to see yourself, like maps, mods and the videos that go with them.
Thankfully I do see some youtubers treating the game for his technical aspect, maybe not enough, but it is what it is.

 

The main problem is the brain rot shorts with those crappy computer-generated voices, and those oversaturated filters, that make the game look like its made for kids.

It is disappointing to see how BeamNG.drive is being misrepresented/degraded as nothing more than a vehicle destruction simulator, when in reality, it is just more than that. The fact that some content creators use oversaturated filters/colours, text-to-speech voices, and in more extreme cases, characters from children's media, doesn't help.

 

Oh yeah, the "boy kisser" crap. The USSR anthem isn't funny but at least it's not ear-destroying.

 

I agree. I don't understand the enthusiasm for the flag of the USSR and the hammer and sickle symbol.

Also, what is wrong with the "boykisser :3 UwU" thing that is becoming prevalent in social media?

Made this video after having many co-workers point out BeamNG looks like a kids game (they all know I play it and make vids on it). YouTubed it with a clean search and thought “Yup, I see how this is an issue”.

Maybe if beamng gets more official racing content and career mode gets finished, the game will be taken serious from the public's perspective. its unfortunate that beamng is seen this way, as a silly crashing game, but it is what it is i guess.

 

I was in band and orchestra, but I can't say I've ever been a "band kid".

I know people who are in a band some of them are chill it’s just a common stereotype that many can relate to. Yes I did see a boy kisser on the whiteboard when I was at a forestry equipement training class which took place in the music class

I met a friend in school a few years ago I booted up GeForce now and played beamNG he told me he played the game and drifts cars in the game. It was cool we played nearly everyday In class in the back on our laptops
