Looks stupid, but works. The GTX 670 over here already passed through these issues. The oven technique worked.

    Baking video cards works!...
I have a GTX470 that goes bad every few months, glitches out during games and sometimes artefacts on the bios/boot screens.... some games work fine, but others that push the gpu (eg beamng) will cause it to screw up...

10mins at 200c in the oven has fixed it every time!... ive done it about 15 times to my card already!

just make sure you strip everything from the board that you can...eg heatsink, fan, end plates etc... no need to remove the plastic power connectors or fan headers, they will take the temperature and not melt

ive also resurrected a PS3 by baking the motherboard!

ive read that baking a card too many times will make the solder crystalize and become brittle...but I am yet to have that problem

Umm, maybe that's why the solder keeps failing every few months?

umm maybe..but If that was the case it wouldn't work at all after baking...yet..it fixes it...and what caused the issue to start with?

it first happened 12months after I purchaced it...it had an 18month warranty so I sent it back to manufacturer to be "repaired" which took 3 months...I was told id be receiving a new card..but the original one was returned working..well it only lasted 6months and by that time the warranty had run out...so bake was the only option... and it has resurrected it every time ive done it....

looking at the solder joints I can see that they ARE NOT crystalised (im an IT tech who has been working with computers longer than most members here have been alive)

Are you limited by your cpu by any chance cos I'm limited to 21fps and I've got a gt610 and on low cpu demanding I get 50 fps lowest but normal textures and on 1280x1024 and don't dis my monitor just cause it's not 16:9 lol and btw I'm glad it's not 1080p as I can't run at 1080p and it wouldn't look nice scaled! Radeon hd5450 sounds okay compared to my measly gt610 and I'm running or bottle necking it at pcie 1.1!

I've just picked up BeamNG just for something to mess around with on my laptop. The lag is horrible. I know next to nothing about computers, I just use the things, I don't know how they work.

This is running atrociously on my laptop. It isn't a gaming laptop and I don't want a gaming laptop - too expensive and I never play PC games anyway, so it's not worth my time and money buying one.

It's an HP Pavilion G6 with an i5 M480 quad core 2.67GHz processor, 4GB RAM and 64 bit operating system.

I have no idea what the graphics card is in it. Under Display it says Intel HD Graphics i5

The game is so slow and jerky and looks as though runs at about 2 frames per second on top of that.

Any suggestions, apart from buying a new laptop, which I can't.

If the graphics are already on the lowest settings, there's really not anything you can do besides upgrade your hardware.

    Buying a desktop instead?

No, more seriously. On that machine, its never going to run the game terribly fast, should be alot better than what you are describing though. Click on the little battery icon in the system tray and make sure the laptop isnt set to power saver or some sort of eco mode, swap it to high performance instead.

Set all graphics settings as low as possible. Turn off postfx. To get to the options mid game press ctrl+o ,the game may hang for a while when you turn off some settings, it should recover within 30 or so seconds.

Make sure it's running with your Nvidia card, just use "NVIDIA Control Panel".

I'm confused. I have a GTX 650 but I run over 30 FPS on 1920x1080. How did it go less than 30 FPS on yours?

These physics games such as BeamNG Drive, NCG, ROR, etc put more pressure on the processors than the graphic cards.
Good look'n games require a better graphics card.

BTW, your graphics card is the worst :/

    NCG requires both.

NCG is waaay less CPU intensive than BeamNG & RoR.

You're not really bumping the thread, last post was 4 hours ago. If anyone bumped this, it was mingolovesdrive, but he asked for help, so it's better than creating a new thread. ;)

My suggestion would be to get maybe a GTX 750, or get a GTX 750 Ti. :)
