Average Update Speculation Thread activity when no update:

 

There was one update where they did that, but people here figured that out pretty quickly and it looks like the devs learned their lesson.

I was just thinking the Sunburst needs PBR. Those interior textures are horrible.

 

Before someone did the research, I was thinking 1990s, possibly Australian, muscle car

Had a bit of a sad when I realized that the 200BX was getting dedicated coupe & hatchback bodystyles instead. Having only one body style that combined elements of both was what kept it from just being a lawyer-friendly S13

 

why would you be sad?

 

It was obviously S13-inspired before, but having the hatchback-like roofline with a separated trunk made clear that it wasn't exactly an S13. It was its own entity.

Now we're likely going to get a hidden-headlight hatchback and an exposed-headlight coupe, just like the real one. Who knows, they might even put the hidden-headlight front end on USDM versions of the coupe, also just like the real one, and give the JDM version a more powerful engine, also just like the real one.

It feels like a creative downgrade, and also, if someone wanted to make a non-lore-friendly S13 mod so we could actually have the real one, it would almost be a waste of effort to do so now.

Splitting the body styles like that just makes it too close to reality without actually being reality.

 

Personally, I enjoy the variety. I also don't expect them to completely remove the existing fastback body style, but simply to add other options on top of it.

 

Am I the only one here more looking forward to some innovations and improvements rather than new transportation?) i'm more excited about the ffb improvements, and some other things not announced yet.
